Interesting video. And, it just happens to support my personal findings with regard to performance of the (Walmart) Everstart and Interstate batteries (made by Johnson Controls): best buy and top performers, IMO. But, YOU be the judge!

I agree Paul. The Walmart Everstart is the Die Hard of today. Best price and best performance out there.

I'd like to see him abuse them and see how they hold up. Sitting on a shelf is one thing, how about banging down the road for 5 years?

When I got my current car it had an interstate battery that was just 3 years old. The previous owner had left an interior light on the evening before it was to be picked up for shipping. He jump started it and it was dead when it arrived. I fooled around with slow trickle charging it several times but it wouldn't stay up for more than a week and a half. If the car sat more than that it needed jumping or charging. I replaced it with a Delco and was happy to learn that they went to free replacement instead of pro rating . With a new battery my starting issues are over. I should have just bought a new battery when it arrived and not fooled with it.

Unless you're running the "Baha" with your ZR-1, there wouldn't be much "banging around", no? Now, sulfate build-up is another thing all together*!
*Many modern battery (maintenance) chargers e.g., Battery Tender will also pulse the battery to discourage and even remove sulfate (PbSO4) from the lead plates.

Good to know. Thanks for posting this. I'll keep it in my mind if I finally get a ZR1

And, all the Walmart logos etc peel right off, so no one
knows it came from Walmart! Been using Everstart batteries for years.
One of few places to get one that physically fits in a BMW. Unless you wanna spend about $400 at the stealership...
