I haven't missed "Carlisle" in over 20 years, but I'm gonna pass on it this year.
With the Registry not having an Official presence (a good decision) including none of the the great barbeque provided by Charley, a requirement to wear masks and maintain social distancing in the usual Carlisle heat and humidity and of course and most importantly, the potential health concerns (this thing ain't over by a long shot...) have reluctantly led to my decision.
I'll miss all the great friends and acquaintances I've made in the Registry and the Corvette community, but, with some luck, this will be over at some point and we can get back to normal or whatever's gonna pass for normal.
All, stay safe and healthy and damn it, wash your hands... especially you Big John :)
Hope to see ya'll in BG in the Spring!
Just a note on ?back to normal?. I called our local DMV office this week about some expiring vehicle registrations and he said our state has extended all vehicle related dates til September 30. So my question to him was that this is going to be over by that date. He matter of factly said ? No it will be over November 3rd?. Just sayin!!

I'll also plan on attending next year. I owe you at least a drink, likely dinner, for your assistance, so lets plan on that too.

I spoke to Boomerangs a few days ago and they are looking forward to our visit. So far we have 5 rooms booked with our ZR-1 discount of $55/single Queen or $65/two Queens including taxes and we also get a 10% discount on food. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and only limit the amount of people to 25% occupancy. They said it has been slow so no problems with crowds and out of the 80 rooms I think we are the only ones booked so far. We might have our own private bartender!

We have a specific ZR-1 tent and parking area supplied by Carlisle. I am sure it will be in the same place as past years, come in Gate 3, drive past the self wash area and when the road bends to the right we are right there at the corner of the bend. I believe we will have a ZR-1 Net Registry sign up on the tent but not 100% sure.

While the Registry is not there "officially" we have a tent and parking area as shown on the map from G8nightman above. We will have the Registry banner on our tent.

Going. Will probably be there on Thursday . It's a shame none of Charlie's good barbeque . Oh well next year. I know he's looking forward to looking around instead of doing the cooking.

A tent? What happened to no official Registry presence?
For fellow members who are travelling to Corvettes at Carlisle this week, we wish you safe travels, a safe event and a very enjoyable time in Carlisle.
We want to clarify that while there will be dedicated parking in the Fun Field for club members who registered under ZR-1 Net Registry, Corvettes at Carlisle will NOT be erecting a ZR-1 tent this year as has been provided in the past. This is due to restrictions that have been put in place for the 2020 event as per the Carlisle Events agreement with the Govt of Pennsylvania. We will miss Charlie's excellent cookout too, but we're sure there will be lots of stories to be told and mods to be shared to keep everyone entertained.
All the best.

Mother's milk.....Tequila infused with habaneros!
Those of us who were fortunate enough to make it to Carlisle, we had a great time. We had a few missing vendors but overall if you needed something you could find it. The overall attendance was down a bid as we expected but actually that made it more enjoyable, less people=better deals and no line to use the bathroom or to get food/drinks. For us Registry members, sitting out in the hot sun without a tent was not much of an option. We made our way over to David's group and they were very gracious to us sharing their tents, food and drinks. The rain stayed away for the most part and the temps were very comfortable. I even got Lance to sign my hood. Enjoyed staying at the motel at Boomerangs with Steve, Scott, Marc, George, Nick, Keith and Rich. Boomerangs staff took good care of us and the food/drink was very good. Hopefully next year things will be back to normal
