New sport seats for the 90 arrived from AL Knoch, look great, came fully assembled. New bladders, switched, bezels, lines etc. I have not installed them yet. I am hoping the air pumps work as I rebuilt them before sending. Sport seats were no cheap, over $2000 invested in them at this point with shipping and return shipping, foam, bladders, etc. Could not find a competent local installer so being sport seats, had the send it ALL to Al Knoch. I am at a stopping point as my painter is stringing me along. I need to find a north Alabama custom painter to spray it. It is fully prepped and ready to spray including 2k Primer and sealer. If anyone knows someone near Decatur, Huntsville please pass along their information. I am waiting to post pics when it is all completed.

WELL WORTH THE COST!!!!
There will be no need to ever do them again, so enjoy the quality and the completeness!
Most upholstery shops have a very tough time with sport seats.
You would not have saved much going to any of the big suppliers and buying leather on foam.

Agreed but the sport seats for a 90 were not available to buy on foam, likely due to the separate bolsters. Costs me $500 plus to ship the entire seats with tracks and all to them, but they look great!!! I have used them at least three times before but always tried to catch them a local NCRS regional event. They install on site with appointment. Save the shipping!

Guys, if you have been following the Plethora of questions from me over the past 6 months (Jerry at Jerry's Gaskets probably hates me by now but he can't say I didn't significantly helped his first and second quarter :) ), you know what a job I have undertaken. I am sooooo close. My painter is holding me up. I really want to reveal it when it is done, which would be about a week after paintshop..which it is completely ready for RIGHT NOW. It will be worth the wait. Also have some new surprises that may be interesting on parts thought to be no longer obtainable!

So did they do your side bolsters as well? Because I didn't have the best experience with old AL and the gang.....First they told me they would sell me a side bolster in saddle color because that's all I needed. They sent me an invoice along with a sample piece of leather to confirm the color would match. When I got the sample and re-contacted them to order it, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Wouldn't sell me the side bolster, and said they NEVER send out samples.....So I refaxed them the invoice, with the hand written quote from their leather guy, which he dated just a week before. It was unbelievable!! Finally told them to go kick dirt. Went out and bought a $20 leather kit and fixed it myself.....

They did it all for me, job seems good. I am still in sticker shock of the price with installation and shipping buy its done and they did send me leather samples beforehand.

Well, I am so impatient. Got the interior with new Al Knocks in this past weekend. No door panels or halo yet as it get painted this weekend but the interior turned out great IMHO. Here is a preview. I will debut the finished project in about a month hopefully....

Well the timeline certainly hasn't gone to plan but I am VERY close to posting the completed pictures of the 90. (also will post final solution to my other thread about hard start when cold- but haven't been able to drive car yet but 99.999999 percent sure it was found and fixed). My QUESTION for this thread is, the gap on the rear bumper to rear quarters are very tight, I am not going to loosen (nightmare to get get gaps perfect) I got some residual compound in the cracks, I did have them taped, looking for a good brush and products to remove left over compound in the cracks , mainly the rear bumper to quarter. Will a tooth brush scratch the clear? Google was no help....

The seats turned out great. For the compound in the cracks, CarPro Eraser (or isopropyl alcohol diluted 50/50 with water in a pinch) along with a horsehair toothbrush or a thin microfiber towel should do the trick. If you'd like, I'd be happy to mail you a towel to try for no charge.

Hi, the brush recommendations was what I was looking for. The horsehair won't scratch the paint? I used the 3m Trizact system and it turned out very well so I don't want to scratch. I have a bunch of microfiber towels, when you say thin micro fiber towel, didn't know there were thin versions, I can't find one that says thin on a google search. I ordered the CarPro and a horse hair exterior brush ( most I could find were either large or for interior only, I found ONE for exterior about the size of a toothbrush -it was $14.99 WOW for one brush) but it is ordered. Can you send me some info on where I can get the thin micro towel? You can PM me. Thanks again!
Chris
I am also getting some 3M clean and shine

Not sure if Al Knoch makes their own seats but from what I understand CORVETTE AMERICA does make the covers onsite and sells to a lot of suppliers. I have a full set of bolster frames I want to take apart and shorten them by a few inches so they don't stick out so much but I want to find the bolster covers in a perfect match before I move forward with this. I got a color sample from CORVETTE AMERICA but it's not a dead on match so I'm still looking.

I have ordered from them before and can confirm Al Knoch make their own seats.

Not sure where this thread left the rails., but absolutely Al Knock makes their own product. Best Quality, getting an installer familiar with Corvette seats to make them really right is the hard part. I ended up sending my seats to Knock for them to install, wasn't cheap but EXACTLY OEM. BTW if your are a current NCRS member you get 10% off entire bill IF YOU ASK for it.

Two years later and a complete restoration of a 90 driver at best (28k miles)....the project is done as of yesterday (there are a couple of minor things that were a surprise when I opened a few boxes - but those will be remedied next week) . Thanks to all that helped me along the way, more detailed pictures of the restoration project to come, maybe in the HOTB. So here are a couple of the in process and before pics (out of 5000 pictures I have). I did my own photo shoot this morning, those photos are being uploaded to my service now, and I will post the link here as well as make a new thread.....follow this thread! now, here are a few of the before pics...
I was not able to load the pictures to the Registry...here is the link...
