Time for another good dyno report... Marc just finished a round of upgrades on my new-to-me '95 (replaced my wrecked '93 last year). The car was originally modified to a 368 by Lingenfelter, then breathed on by DRM but never reached its potential. Everything was pretty much sub-optimal. Last recorded dyno before sending the car off to Marc was around 420 RWHP. Pretty mediocre for a 368. Pulled 486 SAE RWHP/405 ft. lbs. torque on the dyno yesterday. That equates to 572 crank HP. Not bad for a 30+ year old design. Kudos to Marc for another outstanding piece of work!

486 SAE at the tire?
Wow. Impressive. Can beat Haibeck's stuff, that's for sure.

At what RPM were peak power and torque?

Peak torque around 5200 RPM and power basically flat from 6500 to 7100 RPM.

Wow that is something. Did Mark just computer tune it only? Did he re time the cams?

Just a guess, but I'll bet you'll be replacing the rear tires fairly often.......

Enjoy the madness!!!

Pure stock, just a tune... kidding, of course. Top end porting (including siamesed plenum and injector housings), medium weight (20 lb.) flywheel, cams, headers and 3" exhaust. Well, at least the air filter is stock.😏

When you say "cams"...do you mean stock cams which have had their timing changed or do you mean cams with more aggressive profiles.

If the latter tell us about the cam profiles.

Are you using the stock clutch with the 20lb flywheel?

Beautiful! Oh, you're gonna like that. Very flat torque curve means "power" just about everywhere!

Fantastic job, Marc!!

Drove the car for the first time last evening. WOW! Gives new meaning to the phrase "Sit down, shut up, and hang on!". But perfect street manners, too. No compromises here. One of the Corvette hobby's best kept secrets!!

Well, actually, there are a few more to be found. After looking at the DynoJet file, I see that the actual peak got smoothed over because of some noise in that part of the curve. The actual peak was 491 SAE. Probably a few more above that to be had with some other minor tweaks. The fun is just beginning!

As I said earlier, Marc's stuff is freakin' incredible.

Just for perspective, attached is the last chassis dyno data from my '12 ZO6. Which has a mild Katech LS7 in it. I'm making 537.64* at the tire at about the same RPM as is "Top Toy" from 427 cuin. and he's making 491 from a 368.

Freakin' awesome engine you have!

Hib,

That also says something about the LT-5 platform. People like Marc and Pete get great numbers and they do it without support from the aftermarket. Just massaging what?s already there. GM can be very frustrating in their decision making.

Was a great evening to get the car out. Anybody know where I can find a sympathy card for a gray Tesla S owner?
