View Full Version : Purge Valve Connection on Plenum?

I recently put my plenum back on the LT5, and noticed on the front drivers side there were two vacuum connections. One of them I had a connection for, the other I did not. The One I had no hose to connect to it was labeled as "Purge Solenoid Connection" in the GM LT5 service manual. Is this an un-needed emissions vacuum connection that the previous owner disconnected and I need to cap? Or am I missing something?

If you are looking at it on the drivers side the right connection is for the secondaries with out it they are not working and you are not getting full power

Thanks for the feedback, but doesn't the secondary vacuum come from the middle of the plenum? I'm referring to the two nipples at the front of the plenum (parallel to each other), behind the throttle body on the drivers side.
Specifically, #9 on this diagram. The nipple is straight on my 1990 Plenum, but same location. Labeled as "Purge Canister Hose Location".. Which I assume is for the EVAP system for the furl tank?
