Hi!
I have my ZR-1 and couldn't be happier and prouder but there has been an issue lately. When I accelerate and keep the speed up for a constant period of time there is strange smell coming from the vents. Apologies but it smells like wet farts. I looked under the hood, checked on liquids but everything seems fine.
It happens just when I keep a constant speed and it is really annoying. Also driving around 90mh with windows rolled down is somewhat uncomfortable.
Do you have any ideas what can it be?

Could be a dead animal. Not unlikely if the car has sat a lot

My guess would either a dead mouse somewhere or a mouse nest that warms up & you are smelling all the mouse urine. It does smell real bad.

x3 on dead critter (mouse most likely). Eventually, it will dry out and quit smelling. But, that could take a month or two (experience speaks).
However, when I bought my truck, the previous owner was a heavy smoker. I Google'd and found an active aerosol bomb where I set it off with the heater running and closed the doors and windows for ~ 20 minutes. It worked pretty well.
I bought the thing on-line for about $15 shipped. Wish I'd kept the empty container to share with you on what it was.
To be honest, unless it was a daily driver, most of the worst of it should go away in a couple weeks - a month or two tops. So, maybe you can wait it out??
Good luck!

I had a car with a bad catalytic converter that resulted in "rotten egg" smell in the car.
Humidity will condense on the exchanger & drain through a pipe onto the ground. Almost always visible after stopping for a bit. If you do not see a puddle near the firewall on the passenger side, then condensation may be accumulating in the air box. it will smell very musty. The drain pipe is usually a rubber pipe and somewhat flattened on the end.

Knowing the propensity of critters taking residence in the starter valley, could some have died in there and the smell get into the car? Also a clogged valley drain could make a moldy mess of their past domiciles. Of course I guess you would smell that all under the hood. Put your nose at the plenum for a sniff test?

This would be my bet as well.
