I contacted Carter at ctmachining@gmail.com I wanted a LT5 Plate for my Z but I did not want the holes. I asked him if he could make one thinner that I would use double stick tape to hold it in place.

Carter made one for me for $78 see the picture. I also posted a picture of the double stick Scotch tape that I used.

I would have liked it even thinner but welcome your reply's of like or dislike the appearance

I like it, I assume you just stuck it over the factory?

Yes I used the double stick scotch tape pictured. I have not driven since installed but the intake stay cool when running and heats up after stopping I hope this works. I like it with out the holes

Do you think that tape will hold when it heats up?

You’ll need to check for coolant leaks on startup and when it gets up to temp.

Carter, sent you an email, but could you do one the dimensions of the entire TB? Then you could potential fit more text on it, and it would look "cleaner".

Evan,
Glad to see you are still kicking. I sent you back an email. Look forward to machining what you want. Take care.......

How “thick” are they?
And, how thick would “thinner” be?
Thanks!

Little thicker than a quarter and they will not be any thinner.

So if you have by-passed the TB coolant lines would you be able to put this on and it stay without the torx screws and it be level with the TB?

With or without coolant bypass, Looks like this just
"tapes" over the existing plate. That's why they
want it thin.

I would be interested in the same as you. Bypassed coolant, clean (no screw holes or cut out) and sitting flush w/ TB and stuck on with 3M heavy duty double stick. Carter would have to make it almost as thick as the original, but it’s not flat in there under the plate.

I could machine off material from your factory plate so the "new" style plate would fit flush or dang close depending on how low the factory torx set below the plate surface before machining. I can machine both the factory plate and screws if there was enough room.

That’s a good idea. I forget what the stock plate looks like underneath? What about machining the thickness of new plate and tape off the top of the stock plate? Wait a minute! I’d have to see if I kept the stock plate the next time I go home. I probably tossed that nasty thing.

There was a '92 ZR-1 on eBay a little bit a ago that had an American Flag version of this. It looked hand painted but really cool. Food for thought.
