Not mine...

On the surface this looks like there’s a good deal to be had here.

Car is not running and also needs heater core.LOL. You'd think they might mention that in the ad.

Maybe "A real looker!!" is the new way to say, "Not running". :-)

Russ I think you hit on a new slogan for a car for sale...We used to just say "runs and drives".--Bob

"Getting too old for such a car" must mean I can't push it around anymore? I mean really that is a dishonest ad.

Wonder why the seller didn't mention that in the ad. My experience is the people who are up front about car issues in their advertisements are usually the best to deal with versus those who want to "bait and switch" you.

It must just be me, I look at a car like that, some known and some unknown issues, not running, appears to be in decent cosmetic shape, on the market for a long time and if the price is negotiable probably an $11k car. I do my own work and for probably under $15k total investment I’ve got a pretty decent driver car.

On the other hand, problem is there’s no one really in LA that can reliably work on these cars. Sending it to Haibeck, Pete or Steve at Crossed flags (and back) adds another $2k in transportation plus what they charge in parts and labor. You start looking at stuff like that it’s no wonder that for the average guy its just not worth the trouble unless you could buy a car like that for $7-8K. And it also no wonder that values remain depressed on these cars.
