Hi to all, does anyone know exact laser unit type/number which is suitable for replacement in 1990-91 BOSE GOLD (grey with yellow buttons) sound system? I am looking for unit which will allow me play also burned CDs.
Producer should be panasonic, but I have not found on the unit any useful number.
I know there is a service for the laser unit replacements - https://www.carstereohelp.com/corvette.htm. However I am from Europe and it is quite expensive to send radio to them and back (+shipping and duty - twice).
Thanks for all ideas
Jakub

Yes, it was my first try. It is not playing any CD. However I have read on the corvette forum, that original laser lens (in all C4 BOSE radios) are playing only original CDs until len upgrade. Maybe yours is the upgraded one.

Perhaps contact Dr. Don and see if he is willing to share info. Or, even better, sell you the part you need.

Dr. Don is THE Guy!!=D>
He walked me through repairing the complete system on my '90.
His service was so good I ended up sending him all the components, including complete speaker assemblies, for him to check and bring to perfect working condition. Been a couple of years and no issues at all with his work.
:cheers:

You might also want Dr. Don to add the AUX input which is a direct connection from the cassette input. Then you can connect XM radio or music on your phone. I had him do that and was able to put the XM radio in the center console with a remote control to change stations. Everything hidden so the look is completely stock but the sound outstanding.
