So I pulled my plenum to fix a vacuum leak. It’s leaking at the plenum gasket the guy I bought the car from replaced the injectors and the alternator. But obviously he did not have a Plenum gasket because I found sealant on the left side towards the back probably tore the gasket when he removed it and just put some sealant which did not work. Now this guy had purchased the car at auction and I purchased it from him but I track down the owner before him to get some history on the car found out he had zip tied the Secondaries open and had a chip bar to run them all the time. From Marc haibeck. But when I remove the Plenum they were not zip tied back so the guy I purchased a car from who replaced the injectors Either remove the zip ties so I’ve been running with the secondaries closed this whole time. But with the chip running the injectors as if they were open the car felt pretty powerful. So how much more power can I expect with the secondaries nail tied open? I am hoping for a big difference

Thanks. Greg

If the flaps are closed you are probably running very rich when the secondaries are not functioning you are probably about 230 HP

IF the secondary actuators are operational, then they would open at the point that Marc set it in the calibration (along w the secondary injectors) which would likely be right after TPS% >idle which is about 1.95% stock. That assumes he used 0s for TPS% v RPM in the the secondary throttle opening and closing tables. Pretty sure that's what Marc does.
Is your Secondary Differential MAP sensor still connected?

They where supposed to be zipp tied open that’s how He had the tune to delete secondary butterflies The previous owner said he had him zip tied back but the guy that acquired it from him Must have Removed the zip ties the secondary injectors are operating just off idle as you say but the butterflies were never opening a vacuum tested it I have now wired them open

I would make absolutely sure the car is programmed to run without them. If it's not, and you tie them open, it will run extrodinarily lean. Lean is bad.

OP you need to contact Ted Dempsey to get this sorted out. He lives up in the panhandle near you. PM me if interested and I will share his number with you. Yes lean is bad, very bad.

Im sure it’s programmed to run with the secondaries open I spoke to Marc shortly after getting the car after the previous owner informed me about the drm chip he had reprogrammed by Marc. I have it all back together. I have a teck 1 scanner the secondary injectors come on right off idle.

You need to verify whether the secondary throttle plates are opening or not. The PO may have fixed the throttle plates and secondary system and didn’t know the Haibeck secondary delete chip was in there. Here how to check it without taking the plenum off. If you find they are opening you have the option of reverting to a normal chip and not having to take the plenum off again. If their not working you will have to remove the plenum and wire them open or fix them and install a normal chip.
