Fellow members:
Those of you who receive the NCM newsletter may have seen referene to a vitrual car show for later in April. Registration for the show will open tomorrow (April 6) and remain open until April 12. Registration will be available at the NCM website.
One of 24 categories of awards to be presented is a club award to the organization with the most registrants as a percentage of overall participation. So presumably, we will be able to identify our club affiliation when we register. With more than six hundred members now, we could have a real shot at this award if many of us participate. People may register in multiple categories (e.g. C4, racing, unique story, etc.) at a cost of $10/category; I believe proceeds go to NCM. We will be limited to one photo for each category entered.
Some of the celebrities serving as show judges include ZR-1 icons like Dave McLellan, John Heinricy and Gib Hufstader.
Good luck to everyone who registers.

Would it help If we all registered in the same category?

Good question. We won't know the registration structure until it opens tomorrow, but I think we will be able to register as Net Registry members regardless of the category within which we enter.

only one picture per entry?

only one picture per entry?
Correct - one picture for each category you enter into. For example, you'd be able to upload a picture for the C4 entry and a separate picture for the racing entry. I checked the NCM website this morning to see if registration was open; it had not yet, but remember that they are on central time. Registration should be open later this morning.

so if I wanted to enter the custom and C4, it is a $20 entry and 2 photos?

I have registered, but the registration process did not seem to provide an opportunity to include club affiliation even though there is an award to be issued for club participation. I have a question into the museum to determine how that metric will be determined given the seemingly limited registration process.

Direction from NCM - "Add your club affiliation to the description box on your entry". In other words, there isn't a club affiliation drop down box on the registration form. The description box to which they refer is the text box below the space provided to upload your picture.

Right, I do not see show cars yet either. It's possible that the virtual show will not "open" until after the registration is closed on April 12 at which time we will hopefully be able to see all the cars.

With registration for the virtual show now closed, the entries can be viewed by category. Based on my quick count last night, we have 21 ZR-1s of the 124 cars entered in the C4 category; 17% is not a bad rate given the rarity of our cars.
Unfortunately, NCM did not have a "club affiliation" tab as part of the registration process; people had to remember to add their affiliation in the car description section. That may make it more challenging for judges charged with the club award to get an accurate take on participation by club. That said, we have a good showing and can be cautiously optimistic about our chances for the club participation award when the winners are announced later this month.
Enjoy the show everyone.

I entered the NCM car show but didn't show my ZR-1netregistry affiliation.
The National Corvette Museum just sent me a form to list which car club I belong to.
This should let everyone who's a member get counted.

For those that entered the virtual car show, please note that we each should have received the note below from NCM. It's important that we act as suggested to ensure we get credit as a club for the number of members registered. You will recall that there is an award for the club with most registrants.
Participants
To enter the Corvette Club Participation Award category - please fill out this survey with the name(s) of the Corvette Club(s) you are a member of. Deadline to submit is Thursday, April 16 by 10am CT.
