Been a car guy, and a Corvette guy my whole life. Just bought my first ZR-1 a couple of weeks ago.
A 25k mile Red on Red early '91 #141..... And I love it.
From the very first time I saw a ZR-1 at Corvettes at Carlisle back in 1990 I knew someday I'd have one.
Within days of buying it, I joined the registry, had a great conversation with and got to know Mark Horner.
The car is virtually original, even the fuel injectors(were). I knew when I brought it home that the 91's had injector and O ring failures, and that this was a project I had to undertake.
The advice on this site, as well as input from Mark has already been extremely helpful.
All new injectors, coils, wires, plugs, gaskets, O-rings etc from Jerrys Gaskets.
His ZR-1 parts inventory is awesome, very comforting to know for a car with limited production.
Marc Haibeck's DVD made pulling the plenum and fuel rails so straightforward it seemed like I had done it before. With Marc Haibeck's chip and a few other parts installed it has woken the car up already.
This past weekend I did the plenum pull project, had fun doing it and have really started to love this car.
So my sincere thanks to The people of ZR-1 Net Registry ! You have already helped me immensely.

Welcome to the forum. I lived in the Seacoast area for many years and I still have family there. Lovely area, I miss it a lot. I hope to drive the Z up there one day.

Beautiful car! I felt the same way when I got my first glimpse in Motor Trend magazine. I just knew I had to have the ultimate C4.

Welcome and you sure did it the right way on your tune up. Get it from Jerry and you know with confidence the parts are quality and correct. That pesky shipping though. Nothing like two power shifts for permagrin.

Welcome aboard.
Two questions:
1) What do you do for a living? (Driller1)
2) Where are you in southern NH if you don't mind telling.

It sure is, my name is Scott.
I guess NH is even smaller than I thought. Do you know me from local car shows, or maybe any Great Bay Corvette Club events that I've had my C2 or C3 at?
I see you are Steve in Dunbarton...
I know a couple people out of Dunbarton.
but don't recall a Steve from the other side of Concord.

Holy crap Steve, its a small world !!!
I go to Carlisle every year and wondered
were you there last year?
I was near the portable Chevy building where they had the C8's and from a distance I thought I saw you, but said, nah what are the odds, our industry is so small, there is not that many into Vettes.
I also remember seeing a black 1990 ZR-1 parked in the Z section with NH plates, must be yours?

Small world Scott.
Yes, I was there and that would have been my car.
Maybe by August the world will be open again and we can go to Carlisle. Definitely sign up with the Z group

Welcome and congrats!
Question for you, how do you like the Ferrari? I've been thinking about a 360 Modena gated six speed car since the C8 has gone DCT only. I'd love an F430 gated car, but the prices for them are kind of crazy.

I joined the Net Registry right away, and should be getting my T shirt any day now!
is there another ZR-1 group?
I usually trailer one of my older Vette's to Carlisle, but this year, if we get past this virus I may do it a little different. I may drive the Z instead.
Definitely a lot more fun than a Ford pickup for 400+ miles each way dragging my car in a box behind me to only enjoy a few miles around town, and the Saturday night parade.

Thank you very much !
I loved the gated F430, fortunately I bought it several years ago before the gated prices started skyrocketing. It has such a visceral connected feel, that is addicting and although I've had huge tempting offers since the big price spike by some of the guys in the Ferrari crowd, that have much deeper wallets than mine, I have no intention of parting with it..
All of my cars are either 4, 5, or 6 speed, so I'm with you there, I have no interest in a C8 unless they decide to give us a choice other than the DCT.
I am so impressed at the knowledge here, as although I've been a C2 and C3 guy forever, as well as owning another C4 many years ago, I'm a rookie with all the LT5 specifics and will continue to come here for guidance.
Feel free to pm or email me with any questions, like the ZR-1 world is so specific and there are dos and dont's, the same holds true for Ferraris.
In the 360/430 family, thats a realm I have become so very familiar with many years ago and would be more than happy to point you in the right direction(s) They are similar, yet there are many differences between the 360 and 430, learn them all and decide what is best for you.
There were a lot more gated 360's built than 430's so price and availability will be quite a bit easier.
the F1 360 and 430's are plentiful, but repair expenses can be astronomical.
And I have driven them, just not the same without that 3rd pedal.

We're the only group, well, one of the members broke off and has some followers.
We usually caravan in some fashion to Carlisle and the gathering in Bowling Green that got blown off this year.

Oh, sure the Carlisle caravan, that sounds awesome.
I saw that Bowling Green was cancelled, bummed me out .
Ive done the factory tour and the museum several times since it opened, but now I want to feel the experience being there behind the wheel of "The king of the hill"....... Maybe next year.
