On March 1, 1990 Tommy Morrison, John Heinricy and many others began the Record Run in Ft. Stockton, TX. Also present was Hib Halverson, the only media member present, and you can read his account of the Run HERE (http://www.zr1netregistry.com/Information/PerformanceRecords/WorldRecords.aspx). The Run was successfully completed on March 2 (the 154th anniversary of the declaration of independence for Texas).

That poster I believe was handed out at the 25th anniversary C4 Gathering.

Didn’t H Ross Perot own EDS at the time? Every time I see the record car it reminds me of that dude.

Correct. I had a local friend (now deceased) who was Perot's classmate at the Naval Academy and he shared a few "interesting" stories from academy days. After the Navy Perot worked for IBM before starting EDS that eventually made him a boat load of money. And yes, GM invested heavily in EDS in the mid-eighties.

Not after GM bought it for $2B IIRC.
