NCRS guys do not read. For the guys whose wife watches the credit card expenses read on.
Amazon. A pair of hatch struts with defogger connectors. 30 bucks.
Amazon. A hood strut with the orange collar “press”. 28 bucks
Rock Auto. A pair of outside door glass seal scrapers 50 bucks
Why did I wait so long, it all works and looks so nice now.

While your at it, they have the short struts (about 6” long) for the hood.
About $5-6 apiece?
They help raise the hood but were only on pre-88 C4s.
The lugs are already there for installation, just get
some locking pins/cotter pins from the hardware store.

Hey Steve, I used a set of Amazon hatch struts to pass my PV so even NCRS types can be happy here. How are the window seals, how close to stock in appearance. I need to do my drivers door as a minimum.

The window seals arrived yesterday Joel. I will send you pics and evaluation on Saturday when I get into it.

The 11 dollar pair of hood gas strut shorties came today. Wow it raises and locks itself in place. Thanks for the tip

Was just looking at the hatch struts from the original post. Has anyone confirmed the defroster actually works with these? I had bought a pair like this over the summer with connectors for defrost but did not work.

Thanks

I tested continuity through the struts travel. All good. Installed on the hatch and with engine running the voltage drops per the gauge when defroster is turned on. All is well with the part number I supplied.

And the hood nearly opens itself with those shorties installed too. 69 bucks for 5 gas shocks and all is well.

The outside door glass seals for 50 a pair at Rock Auto are a match to OEM and went on perfectly. Purchase with confidence.
