Hey all!

I'll be taking a trip to Stillwater, OK on Saturday. My wife wants to check out a horse and it is only 4 hour north of DFW. If you ever thought our ZR1s are maintenance heavy, just try out a horse for size.

Since I'll be at one of the birthplaces of the LT5, is there anything to see or do ZR1 related? If there is something cool, I'll be happy to take a detour.

Any ideas?

I don't know if they do factory tours at Stillwater anymore, but there are some great driving roads to the east of there. Specifically Talimena National Scenic Byway.

Bill,

The Mercury plant at Stillwater closed years ago and another company is now in the old facility. Nothing remains on that site.

The only thing that remains of Mercruiser in Stillwater is a small engineering group, located downtown. No signs outside or any indication of their occupancy.

Thanks Jerry-

It seems like Stillwater could have used a solid manufacturing plant. It was a nice drive and I did add to my "Horsepower Collection."

This is my wife Lisa on "Vera" an 11 year old former racer with 6 wins. It was mutual love at first sight and I was helpless to resist. Now Vera will come to Texas and get loved on and fussed about as never before.
