I know it’s made to come off but it looks pretty fragile.

Are we talking about the lens only or the fog lamp/turn signal assembly?
Not on 91-95 but I did remove the whole assembly on a 84.
It involved literally peeling off the entire front bumper. It helped that it was a hot summer day - no damage to the paint finish on the bumper.

Yes just the lens. It is made to be replaced but the tabs look like they will break off fairly easy.

Good luck with it and keep us posted. I have 98,000 miles on mine and a fair amount of pitting on the lens and would be very interested in knowing if you find a painless way to replace the lens only.

I have one NOS lens so I do know they come apart but I only need to get a spare I have apart to clean the inside of the housing. I would try and get it apart until I get some advice.
