Finally got back working on the Z and I replaced the motor mounts with the prothane billet mounts. I did not re-install the k members yet (was pulling and cleaning all the front pan bolts first) but had a question about engine position. With the new mounts installed the engine clearly has room to move and the holes are slotted. Is there a measurement or procedure for positioning the LT5 ? I did notice the mounts I removed had little pins to locate them.

I align it to where you have 1/4” air gap between the driver side forward header tube and the steering shaft.

I do remember how much gap there was before hand.. which was almost none. That was one of the reasons for pulling my headers so I could dimple the first tube to clear. I was getting very slight vibration at certain steering angles and it bothered me. I guess there isn’t an exact position ? I know for the trans I think there was measurements for the c beam.. I was thinking to leave the motor mounts loose and when I get the transmission back up I could shift it all over until the c beam has the clearance its specced to be at. Thoughts ?

Will post pics shortly

Nice looking mount.
That’s what I do. Bolt everything up loose then shift the engine over so clearances look good on both sides.
