With 12K miles. Ouch! That looks like directly into a tree.

some people must really really want that one, it's already 10.3k and live auction hasn't even started

Suggests the restoration crowd for ZR-1's which was heretofore non-existent, may finally be strengthening.
A very necessary ingredient to value appreciation.

All the ZR-1 specific parts are good. Its a fairly easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing, but unless its for ones personal use...….And no, I don't know who bought it. Possibly 20th St Auto.

With auction fees and transport cost car will run 12K-13K. For that money they could have bought a clean title 1993 car today at Barrett Jackson. Same color combination and 405hp motor.

I was able to spot a part on a parts car and called them. Gave them the picture number and described the part. Got a call the next day for the price and shipping info. Great service. The part was the black rubber grommet that goes on the radiator shroud that was broken over time by multiple radiator replacements. Such a small item, but impossible to find.

Yeah, I think mine is the only "restoration" that I know of:
full professional repaint
full interior replacement from low mile donor car
rebuilt motor (not to stock though)
and literally everything gone through on the car to make it "perfect"
Would be nice to see some other ones get restored as hopefully that's an indicator of demand starting to increase.

On this forum abull1499 reported buying a beautiful black/black 1991 at Mecum Monterrey for $12,100, or a little over $13k with buyers premium. It seems to have some of the typical issues one finds in a ZR-1 that has not been used a lot or has not been fixed right. In a nearby post he has gotten lots of advice on how to fix things. Should not be too costly. I think he did better. --Bob
