here's a bump for you ... maybe one of the Atlanta guys will chime in
Thanks for the bump Gunny. I am only asking for a referral for someone qualified to work on a ZR-1 in the Atlanta area or Ga for that matter I will travel for quality workmanship. Are the ZR-1s so out of date that nobody works on them or is it just that nobody cares? I need help

Check the passenger side fuse block and look for the fuse that says ecm before you send the car to a shop. It’s usually 3 or 5 amp fuse.

Generous offer from Steve (We Gone). He was a huge help when I first got my ZR-1. I knew pretty much nothing about these cars, and was thrashing to make Gunny's Mountain Run and the C4 Gathering (back in 2015). I made it (with his help) and had a blast. You'll really enjoy the car when it's running strong.
We Gone(Steve) Got your message on CF will call RLH on Mon. Is that you or a shop you trust?

Sorry I do all my own work, don't trust anyone in this area. I have only used Harc Haibeck for things i can't do. Having owned 3 ZR-1s over the past 20 years I have picked up a lot. With the help of this forum I have been able to fix all my own issues.
Feel free to search my posts here or on CF.

I do not know RLH but would be happy to travel to you and see if I can be of any help be for you have to spend time and $ with someone else.
Maybe we can talk Russ into joining us. he has helped me look at another ZR-1 for a guy in Texas who's father passed and left him his car, was taken to a dealer and they tried to tell him the motor was bad. I'll PM you my cell if you would like to talk.
Steve
Thank you for that offer and I accept. May I contact you in a few days as I need to take the car out of storage and get a battery for it

Steve & Russ -
I was hoping you guys would chime in. I suspect the two of you have probably forgotten more than I ever knew about the ZR-1 plus I gather you are both closer.

G -You shouldn't even mention my name in the same sentence as Steve's. He's really a wealth of knowledge. Me? I just try to get by with the minimum. Thank goodness these cars were designed and built so well (once you get past the problems that other people have solved over the years).

You guys can do it
Keep us posted as seems an interesting challenge with a possible obvious and simple solution :)
No spark or No fuel ;)
Everything dried out in fuel system over 4 years and something stuck closed or an electrical contact got corroded..
Check the passenger side fuse block and look for the fuse that says ecm before you send the car to a shop. It’s usually 3 or 5 amp fuse.
Yes.....check all fuses especially the INJ1 fuse

Looked at the 93 that Joel owns this weekend. Long story short, Its alive removed and cleaned the fuel pumps fired right up. Got a few more issues to sort out next trip. car has been sitting for a while maybe over 5 years.
1. EGR code 32, I'm thinking the valve may be stuck.
2. Both service ASR and ABS lights are on. never dealt with this so any suggestions? Yes I have the 93 FSM but did not have time to pull the codes yet, will do next trip.
Everything else looks good the AC even still blows cold!

Just a quick update, I have had Joel's 93 for a few weeks now. all the major issues solved (if you call fuel pumps, ABS/ASR lights on major) easy fixes actually and it runs like a top. One very nice completely original 93 40th with under 13k miles. Just needed a little TLC. When Joel picks it up I'm sure it will provide him many miles of smiles.
I have actually been smiling since the day I met Steve. The car is nice and I appreciate what it is but gaining Steve as a friend is much more important in the big picture. Thank you Steve
