Can those of you with stock 91 wheels let me know if you have your LTPWS label on the outside of the rim lip (Perpendicular to road) or on the flat part of the rim (parallel to the road). Please include VIN number(last 4 digits) and is one end of it lined up with the lug nut one away from the valve stem clockwise?

Thank you.

Believe the slightly worn labels that were on my stock 1991 wheels were original to the car. I applied new labels in the same position as the original ones. They are on the flat part of the rim, forty five degrees counterclockwise from the valve stem on all four wheels. Have highlighted center position of the label with a blue piece of tape. Photo attached.
Car is 1470.
Hope this helps

Dan and Marty,

Thank you and yes it does help. I have seen an early 91 at Nationals with the early style of LTPWS on the side of the rim, they were original. Yours is the second design. So we know there was a running change now, just not certain where.

Hopefully some more folks with lower VINs will chime in of their style and locations. Crazy project has turned into the mystery for me and I'd like to help figure it out. Appreciate everyone's help.

TTT can any other early 91 LTPWS cars please respond?
Thank you,
Joel

TTT can I please get some more responses on the early 91s, prior to car 1470.

I keep forgetting to check #1334. Posting here in hopes of reminding myself :-)

Are those stickers still available somewhere?

Apparently the early cars had GM Part 10074342, which was curved to go on out outer-most part of the rim. They are rare. Someone talked about reproducing them a few years ago (maybe Joel?).

It was replaced (approximate VIN TBD, per this thread) with a rectangular label, using 10180847 for the fronts and 10180848 for the rear wheels.

http://oemcats.com/oem-parts/10180847.html shows some stocking dealers, and Kurt White's site has them (read elsewhere about caveats). Probably others floating around.

Is that $15 per label I wonder?

Yes 90 degrees. Good catch, my error.

90 degrees?

Found the photo and these are the second design that are parallel to the road. I do believe these labels are still available from one of the large Corvette houses.

Thanks

Car is 1470.

My original wheels were the same as dandt67's. My car is VIN 0864.

#1334 is the same as #1470 pictured above: sticker on the flat part of the rim, approximately 9.5" counter-clockwise around the circumference of flat part from the valve stem. It has the two sticker part numbers I mentioned above for front and rear.

I bought the car in 1996 and it had under 40k miles on it as I recall. I haven't replaced the stickers, and have no reason to believe the previous owner would have.

1991 #1148 here and same as #1470 pictured. (Not sure if the OP is still tracking this, I just saw the thread.)

Yes I still look at this occasionally. I have managed to order some of the later design (waiting to get them) and if enough interest could get those made also. Would probably be in the range of $55-60 per set of 4 shipped, less than when the larger Parts house was selling them.

I have a small supply of the curved stickers for the 1990's and now it sounds like the early 1991's only

Joel you have pictures of my car and three out of four were nice the 4th not real bad but the reproductions were nice so I still have 3 if you need them. Stay healthy see you soon. Hope to unveil the 1967 at Mission Inn. Sportsmen Class. Should be done if not I will bring the 72 LT-1. Hope all is good miss not hanging out.
