I have the original wipers on my car but the rubber blade is coming off. Anyone do a blade cartridge replacement? Can’t find a replacement wiper.

There is an article in the NCRS Restorer Magazine from a few years ago that shows how replace just the rubber.

Roy,
Go to Rock Auto (https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,1990,corvette,5.7l+350cid+v8+dohc,104127 5,wiper+&+washer,wiper+blade,8852) and have a look. My memory may not be perfect but I believe you need to look for narrow inserts ... if they are even available. FWIW, the wipers on the later years had fewer problems - I think the factory redesigned the arms. I scored a pair of '95 arms from a Corvette parts place in Atlanta about 15 years ago - doubt any OEM arms are still around but they did make a HUGE difference in wiping efficiency without hitting the hood and other issues.

Trico 202 (204 for later years)
Blades not inserts
Rock Auto
$1.21 each!
I bought 6 sets! Now have a lifetime supply,
they also make a nice X-mas gift!
They fit great and are low profile
to not hit the hood.
They‘re probably old stock so a wipedown
with silicon wouldn‘t hurt.
Some blades had Trico branding others NAPA but
they‘re all the same.

I guess that the question that I have is this: Did the wipers change its physical appearance? My 92 had the arrows on the both ends. According to the judging book, that’s what my 93 should have. Is it different than the other years of ZR-1’s? Here’s a pic of the wiper arm.

My 90 has the same arrowhead design. I just picked up some rubber blades of the right size and stripped them off. Inserted into the existing wiper arms. I also picked the passenger side a bit shorter than the driver’s side. The originals had an occasional collision while wiping.

I did find a reference to said article written by Larry Richter but could not find it in the content section.

Trust me, it’s not hard to do it yourself. Be careful of the aluminum blade holders that snap into the wiper arm. Very sharp.

I replaced the blades before on my 89 Vette. With luck, it won’t be too hard.

I finally found it. It’s in the Summer Edition 2009.
It’s entitled “1984-1996 Corvette Wiper Blades.”

The rubber inserts alone could be hard to find?
I‘m sure you could take the inserts off the
blades from RockAuto and install on the
original wipers?
I‘d bet the OEM stuff was sourced from Trico?

According to the article, Trico was the supplier. The author recommended the Trico #43-200 refill blades. You had to do some slight modification to make them fit but it is doable.

Later wiper blade heads do change and yes the arrow heads are correct for the early cars. I have also found inserts that work and swapped them out. I also believe I have a set that is correct for 1995 that a dealer installed. Can send photos if someone needs them. IM and we can work out a fair price with shipping. All Corvettes for the same year have the same arms and heads (ie 90 coupe, convert and ZR-1 are all the same). Trico was OEM.

I paid more for shipping than I did for the parts

I got 4 pairs in earlier in the week. The aged packaging indicated NAPA parts. The wipers themselves looked great.

A quick wipe of the blades with a rag soaked
with some silicone spray will make them as good as new.

Good tip Doug. Ordered mine from closeout. Down side was the shipping cost and they got tied up in Memphis when FedEx shut down.

Hope you are doing well, stay safe.

FYI - the rockauto.com Trico 202 fits my '92 perfectly and they have replacement blades for both the small arm pin 202 and large arm pin 204.

Worked great last weekend to/from our Texas Chapter NCRS meet in the rain.

The Trico 202's are probably 10 years old, but they have replaceable rubbers. Since the rubber's are replaceable, the arms shouldn't pass NCRS judging since they don't have the tapered ends. But they're great for drivers.

If you're trying to find original wiper arm blades removed from parted out C4's check with Dirk https://www.corvettechassis.com/

We're getting off EZ with ZR-1 wiper blades!
I paid $85 for 2 replacement blades for my C300
over the parts counter at the local MB stealership!
The parts guy was nice enough to install them though....

I did order some sets from Rock Auto and I managed to modify them to fit the original arms. Works great!
