Prototype 1989 ZR-1 for sale in LA... Judging from the serial number I think not. But hey, it does have ZR-1 emblems...lol.

It's got that special badge on the fender. Must be a prototype. Is reverse a speed?

How come all RARE ZR-1 (proto or otherwise) have a "YY" and not a "YZ", or an "8" instead of a "J" for the model (eighth character) in their VIN? AND, they NEVER show the motor in the pix (that I can recall seeing)...hummmm?

A proto for only $7xxx?

Another poser I saw at a local car show...

It could also be that prototype 7 (forward) speed transmission that was being tested to see if they could get the RPM down at highway cruising speed???
Can you imagine the fuel mileage if we cruised under 1000 R's? :-D

This is obviously one very fast car!

Just imagine how fast it must have been going in reverse to achieve the damage displayed by the antenna.

No base car could reach such speeds.

It even sucked the speakers right out of the door!

Sad thing is someone will likely buy it believing the BS that they read.

Who says C-4's don't appreciate?

Current owner bought it for say $1,000.00; put a $75.00 emblem or two on it, and if he fools someone into paying $2,500.00 for it; a good return on his investment!

Maybe I'll reach out to him and offer up the prototype flux capacitor that GM designed for the 89 ZR-1, telling him there is only one in existence, but he can have it for $5,000.00!

Bugs Bunny would call him a "Maroon"
