I think it looks awesome-The C-8....I think Chevy has a winner...Don't know what pricing will be, I hear rumors around 70 grand....Wasn't that the price of 93-95 ZR-1s?
I think all generations after C-3 will take another dip in pricing due to this car..

Why do you think they will take a dip? High % of guys looking to buy a c4 Z are not buying a C8.

It's an awesome looking car and they should do really well considering the MSRP is below $60,000.00 . They will loose some Corvette buyers who don't like or want a mid engine. But I think they will make up for that by bringing in some new and younger buyers. Hope for the best. Sure would hate to see the Corvette go the way of the Camaro. The Camaro just had a tiny back seat and price point compared to the Mustang and Challenger.

I love the car but hate the tacky rear spoiler, make mine white/red interior. And yes the astronaut spiel seemed to go on for days.

Hi George....
I know one car that has to take a beating on resale, the C7Z06.....Been pricing these for over a year now...Most are in the high 50's to mid 60's depending on option packages..
After seeing this car I may just wait for a leftover mid engine Z06...Probably take a few years but after seeing the mid engine platform in person I think Chevy has a huge hit....
Starting price below 60K seems like a great deal.....Heck, my 91 stickered for $65,600 back in the day..

Not a fan of the rear spoiler either. Been following the C8 on CF and the poster Chaz had the car pretty much “dead nuts” for a while. The side intake is reminiscent of the F-15. I suppose part of the astronaut thing may have also been in commemoration of Apollo 11 launching, so I get that.
I think they could have done better w the rear end with it looking like a version of the Cruze but I am anxious to see what it looks like in the “flesh”.
A proper DOHC is begging to be put in the engine bay. As for a DOHC being too heavy on top, I think that argument goes out the window when u consider the
SCs sitting on top of the LT-4 and faux LT5. That’s why u’ll see a DOHC in the more potent versions of this car with turbos sitting on the side.

I like this car right out of the box, can’t say that about the C7. I’m just now getting to where I can see a decent C7 and think it looks alright.

Still amazed they finally did it. Hopefully they will have a few on display at Carlisle for us to check out.

Last night on the live unveiling the target entry price for the base C8 is going to be Sub 60K per Mark Reuss
Sorry I see someone else mentioned that
As for the astronauts.. Scott Kelly is a remarkable speaker.. I saw him at an Engineering Conference in Austin

I like it a lot. Good on GM for taking a risk and pushing new limits for American ingenuity and racing.

I knew it was going to be a world beater, GM wouldn't of made this move without some serious home work. I love everything except those Camaro tail lights, I mean come on GM.....but what shocked me was the pricing of a base C8. That is insane dollar for what you are getting. I know each trim level will up the $, but wow...I can't imagine the looks and performance of the Z06 version and the ZR-1/ Zora versions. We shall see what happens to the fit and finish of this 1st year new Gen, but so far I'm very impressed.
And C7 prices have to take a big hit right? Well maybe not big, but if I can get into a base C8 for $65-67k out the door, what does that mean for the beautiful C7 sitting on the lot?

I like the car more each time I see it,the white one doesn’t have the goofy spoiler which makes it even better. It would be nice if GM offered a spoiler delete option on the Z51 car.

I'll be surprised if anyone leaves a dealership with one for $60,000, but I'm glad they pushed to have it available for a low(ish) price.
Someone else mentioned elsewhere, I hope they didn't skimp on a lot of things to keep the price so low.
I like it a lot. I'm sure it will do well. Good for GM/Chevy for finally biting the bullet and taking the gamble on the mid-engine.

Agreed....The white one is sharp...I'm thinking a spoiler reminiscent of the C6ZR1....Same color with just a small lip from side to side.....I'm sure aftermarket spoilers will be available for this car since I think they could have done a little better job with the spoiler...
Allthough,I'm pretty impressed overall with it.....Don't even mind there's no manual...

Pretty crazy, but not surprising. It's really smitten sports car fanatics of all ages.
Gonna stick with the 25-year-old ZR-1 for a bit longer. Drove it today. Still enjoy it thoroughly.
