Is there any chance on getting Bilstein to do a special price on complete sets of new shocks with the upgraded Morocca valving? It's so expensive to buy a new set and then turn around and have Bilstein change them at added cost.

Thoughts?

Since no one else is replying, there has been a rolling backorder of 8-12 months on these things, with maybe one small batch in between. I'm sure Bilstein would say no to this.

I just recently got one of the new (new) batches from Bilstein and yes, they are stupid expense. I have the new ones as a spare and the ones I swapped on in December have about 22k. I do however, have a set with 80k that were not throwing any codes-- perfect for rebuilding . BTW... I was unable to find anyone in Bilstein that knew anything of a rebuilding service, so I think we are to look to a private company.

What might you notice if you were able to get the special valving? What problem does it solve?

It doesn't solve any problem; these shocks have no known issues. The special valving was designed to tighten them up for road racing. If you track the car, road race, or even auto cross - they are an improvement.

If you just drive the car for pleasure, I wouldn't recommend it.

No offense to the OP, but there isn't much searching here lately. Look how many engine oil threads we have. Half my posts are me posting links to existing threads...

Spork.. this is a Facebook/Google world now. (and even those are old hat to many) Again, no offense to the OP, I see this on Facebook constantly, people ask questions and expect the answers to be served up. Usually getting wrong and wildly uninformed answers. The beauty of the forum is the ability to search and look for a consensus of answers and solutions from those who have had these issues before. Go to the C4 oriented pages on Facebook sometime, you’ll laugh yourself silly with the answers people get to technical issues.

Sorry OP didn’t mean to highjack your thread.

Just called in today and found out my shocks are in the mail after a 7 month delay! Finally. I would gladly send them back with a group of others if there was interest in performance valving. I heard that the AM valving is a little tighter than OEM already? Has anyone confirmed that there's a person at Bilstein that actually knows what Morocca valving is(still)?

I use to live in Poway, only 2 miles from Bilstein USA. I talked to them in person several times and received the same answers we're all familiar with about availability and revalving. Yes, they do understand the Morocca valving and any other valving we would want. It's still a matter of their "double charging". Delta Vee still advertises as performing the revalving but I'm not sure they actually are. Anyone know?
