My clear roof panel (bronze) has a star crack, and I'm looking to have it replaced. Other than going through GM ($1,295), what are some other sources for replacement tops ? I saw an ad in Corvette Magazine for Thompson Astro Tops - does anyone have feedback on them?
Thanks!

there used to be a business about 35 miles from me over in alabama by that name. its been several years since i`ve been by there. i know several people who`ve bought from them and been satisfied. this reminds me that i need to check with them about my cracked mirrow glass top for my 79-L82.

I agree. I've heard the same comment more than once.

I used Melrose, ordered it by phone and picked it up at Carlisle with exchange for @$600.00. They adjusted it and put in on as well. Very good. Garth

got the top back yesterday from Melrose T-Top.... installed it today, and it looks great -- excellent fit and finish! Turnaround time was quick, too. I shipped it out last Monday from CT. They received it Thursday and then shipped it on this Tuesday to me.
Cost was $799, which is higher than at least one other price I saw quoted here. It was a 'custom' order (I requested that they use my factory frame), so that may account for at leas some of the difference...
Thanks again for the recommendations !:)

I think the previous poster was hoping for a picture or two of your roof panel.
Great looking ZR-1 you have there.

What is the main benefit of using your factory frame? Fit? Other?

I want to keep mine but the transparent top makes a horrible sound of rubbing at the left front, when the frame flexes. Is there a way to adjust?
