Started up the car to go to a show and there was a strong smell of gas.
There was a big leak around the fuel pressure regulator.
Glad it didn't fail while I was on the highway this morning.
I had changed the injectors and all the fuel line O-rings last month and had no issues. Started smelling gas after I changed the original fuel filter a couple of weeks ago, but could not find a leak anywhere.
Just did a 200 mile run last weekend with no issues.
At least I know my plenum drain isn't clogged...…..
Another plenum pull tomorrow.

Found the source of the leak this morning. Half rolled o-ring at the fuel regulator on the pipe feeding the drivers side fuel rail.
I'm guessing that when I replaced the original 27 year old fuel filter, I was finally getting full fuel pressure to the fuel rails, which was enough to get by the improperly installed o-ring.
I'll be reinspecting all my work to avoid further problems.
I recommend lubricating the o-rings with engine oil before assembly, to help avoid damage.

Used engine oil, just wasn't careful enough. I'll do better this time....
Pardon me. I thought this was about something entirely different.

Got my rebuilt regulator from Phil. Really nice piece. Fuel system is back together.
Still waiting for some AC hoses so I can complete the 134a conversion.
Other than the evaporator, everything else is new. I only want to do this once.
