Maybe a very dumb question, but I’m putting a totally stock 93 motor back together. On the pass side lower front of the block there is a threaded boss. Here is a pic.

This pic is an early engine. On a 93 this is buried behind the EGR valve. Who can tell me what this is for?

The center threaded boss is not used for attaching anything. Perhaps a left over fixture mounting point from when the block was first machined at the factory.

Ah. A phantom hole. I figured that was the case.... don’t know how anything would attach behind that EGR. Thanks phil. How’s you’re beast doing?
