Hello all,
My car had its ABS disabled years ago when the front brakes were installed. Any way to get rid of the unsightly service ABS light in the info center?
As always, thanks in advance!
Tony

Reconnect the ABS ... on my 91 there is a power connector in the cubby behind the driver's seat. There is no good reason to disable the ABS unless the system is defective and no parts are available.

Thanks guys, I don’t see a way to connect it back up since the original front brakes are long gone.

Um, ABS sensor is in the bearing assembly, my front OEM brakes are long gone too, my ABS are fully functional still. Get yourself a Factory Service Manual. It will prove useful

I was going to say exactly that. The brake calipers have nothing to do with the sensors unless the sensors somehow interfered with the mounting of the calipers, but I can’t imagine that. I’m guessing there was some other reason the system was deactivated. Everything is fixable.

Thanks guys I am still new to this car. I do see where the wires mount to the hub. I saw a loose connector and I assumed it was for the ABS.
That being said, if the ABS is behind the passenger seat in the compartment the whole unit has been removed.

ABS is behind the Driver Seat, not the passenger seat

Under the tray and possibly some insulation.

Ah there it is! On the passenger side I saw a braided line running through the passenger side and thought it might be the brake line but I believe it’s an NOS line.
Least it’s still all there, maybe I can get it all working again.
This car has some skeletons in the closet [emoji41]
