I just bought a 1990 Z that has been sitting for about 5 years. I know I will have to change fuel injectors, fuel pumps, fuel filter and blow out fuel lines among several other things. So the story is the previous owner thought the fuel pump went out. When I got it home and was cleaning it and just giving it a close look over I noticed the horns are unplugged. I just wondering could the Vats system be the problem and if a inline resistor to disable the Vats system would eliminate any problems that system may have had. It's going to be a few weeks before I even attempt to start it, I'm completely in the dark about the no start condition, just curious if disabling the Vats right off the bat will be a good idea. I'm sure I'm going to encounter several issues since it's been sitting so long. Other than the horns everything else looks fine.

Nothing to do with "no start", but the horns may really be the under hood lights. I unplug mine when i go to shows so I don't kill the battery.

OK, I just put a new 875cca battery in it and I have headlights, radio, information center comes on and power antenna. Speedometer moves as do guages but no lcd display no other lights in instrument cluster. I have the clutch master cylinder out now for replacement along with slave and brake master cylinder. The guy I bought it from gave me several new parts including new clutch disc and pressure plate but a guy over at CF gave me a link to an article about these clutches and apparently the stuff I got with the car is no good/not recommended. I guess it's low grade aftermarket disc and pressure plate. My plan is to get the clutch hydraulic system working, then brakes, then engine systems.
