Cannot verify this, however it has been getting play on the NCRS Discussion Site and was sent to me by a Master Judge.
At first I suspected an April Fools joke, but there seems to be much concern.

"Someday NCRS will bring C6s into the fold for judging. Probably not in my lifetime but someday. Please note now that all 2005-2010 Corvettes that have had their battery disconnected and reconnected anytime since last November have lost all clock functionality. The clock goes dark and cannot be reset. This is apparently an issue with the way the GPS in the NAV system was programmed by Denso, the supplier. The clock runs off of GPS time. There is no known fix other than to replace the Infotainment system head with that from a newer Corvette, thus losing originality. It is doubtful that GM will create any other fix for Corvettes that are all out of warranty and for any problem that is not a safety issue. If you own a 2005-2010 do not disconnect the battery or you will also lose your clock function. If you must replace your battery or disconnect it for service operations install an auxiliary power supply first."

If true, I should be getting phone calls any day now in our service area.
Accordingly, I will monitor and report back.

Uh OH...............................

It indeed seems to be happening.

Perhaps I should order a few hundred radios.

Three confirmed unrecoverable failures of the clock.

Guess they were not joking.

The article is accurate.

Well if it is an 05 to a 10 John, do not let the battery fail or disconnect it.
If you do, your clock will go bye-bye.

My car doesn’t have GPS, does that make a difference
It is a 2006 Z06 and it sat for years at Callaway with the battery disconnected

John,
Hopefully you have not disconnected it since November!!!
Or let the battery die.

While you may not have navigation, you still have GPS.
Think OnStar!!!

So yes, your non nav audio system will lose it's clock functionality if it loses all power.

Again, no known fix other than taping a big ben clock to your dashboard, or installing an 11 to 13 radio, or aftermarket.

They will all fail when power is gone.
