Hello all

Does anyone know where to find replacement bolts for the rear upper shock bracket? I broke more than one during disassembly and my web searching has failed me...

Or would it be possible to use a standard M8 bolt with the same strength (10.9) but without the threaded tip? I guess that this could make reassembly slightly harder?

I would think you could bring it to an auto parts supplier and they can match it up for you.

Get a hold of Mark at www.MirrockCorvette.com. I’m sure it’s no different than a standard C4 shock mounting bolt.

Are Wuerth/Wurth fasteners available to you in Sweden?

M8-1.25X30 for '90 & '91, spec changed to 40 for '92 - '95. 10.9 is a hard to find I'd think in correct finish and CA tip. I'd think 9.8 would do. The longer spec 40mm is still available from GM and replaces the 30mm here in the US>

Do you have maybe an order from a US vendor that you could add them to? The 40mm spec might not currently have the CA point.

You could ask for also a 'dog point' which actually is more common today. The CA tip just eased factory assembly. Chase your threads and I'd think you're all set.

Thanks for the reply everyone! I have a wurth store in the local area and will check with them first.

I appreciate that you detailed the specs WVZR-1. My Z is a 1990.

Thanks Ccmano for the link suggestion.

If you can't be helped at Wurth I'd think nearly every auto manufacturer would use a 10.9 spec, flange head M8-1.25 likely considered 'frame bolt'. You might do well at most any dealer. You would likely sacrifice the CA point but like I mentioned just 'chase' the threads.

Hello all

I just wanted to close this post after getting a hold of GM 11515758 bolts today from an opel dealer. It took for ever to get the delivered from Germany but now I can put my Z back together.

I would like to thank everybody who posted responses here. I am very glad that the registry has all you helpful people.
