In preparation for a car show in a couple of weeks, I'm in the process of refinishing the engine ... all was going well until I tried to remove the front (small) cam cover bolts before painting the covers (I'm painting them in place). I twisted the head off of the driver's side center bolt (the one hidden behind the power steering fluid reservoir).
I really don't want to try to pull the cover off, at least right now. Can I drive it without that particular bolt?

Just silicon glue the head back in and go. You be safe running it that way for quite awhile

That’s not even necessary. Especially if the cover hasn’t been removed, seal not broken. I’ve run exactly in that condition with no leaks. Sometimes you have no choice!
