Have a couple of minor scratches on my 1990 dark red metallic car. Does anyone know of a good product to the use that would fill them without damaging my original paint?
Thanks

If the scratches are just in the clear coat they may buff out.
If the scratches are through the clear coat into the red metallic there's not much you can do other than have it repainted if you want it to not be seen. If the scratches are in the metallic you can go to a auto paint store and buy some touchup paint and with a small brush fill it in. It will still be visible just not as noticeable.
Good Luck

Try Dr. Colorchip system if you went thru the paint, otherwise Meguiars Ultimate Compound used gently buffing by hand will remove a minor scratch as Randy mentioned above.

Make sure that all old wax is removed before you go further.
Oftentimes, getting the white residue out seems to make them almost Unnoticeable.

DONT USE COMPOUND if you not familiar with it. If the scratch is deep enough you feel it with your finger nail it will need paint work. For minor scratches I use a good wax,not compound and an idiot proof buffer. An idiot proof buffer is one of the cheap orbital buffers that you can find everywhere.
