Chasing down a wee bit of vibration around 80 mph led to discovering one of my rear A-molds (Chinese knock-offs) rim has an ever-so-slight wobble; about 5mm worth. I'm not sure if that is causing the vibration, but after doing a road-force balance test and truing the tread, the little vibration persists.
I don't notice any vibration on Ami's Z, so I might swap tires/wheels and see if the vibration goes away - I'd be really surprised if it didn't!
Is this something a wheel shop could fix do you guys n gals think?
For ONE, I don't know if little wobble is the issue - but it wasn't corrected with steps taken to fix (a wobble) so far
And TWO, would I be wasting $$ to find out the only "fix" is to buy new wheels?
The thing is, I really, REALLY like the chrome A-mold look on a RED Corvette, and that's the rub (far as finding replacements go). Flat grey/aluminum color "As" are much more common. "As" with a decent chrome application are not so common (a lot of chromed wheels have issues with the chrome flaking or blistering.).
What say U?
