While waiting for my 92 to arrive, I purchased a set of OEM A-molds.

Currently have standard valves installed.
Did the 92 model year have TPMS?

If so, where would be a good place to get them.
Could also use a good source for A-mold center caps.

Also ordered new Goodyear F1 GS-D3's
Fronts arrived, but rears are backordered till December….

Thanks, Paul

Hey Paul,
All ZR-1s came with LTPWS Low Tire Pressure Warning System (RPO UJ6 I think) which were sensors clamped to each of the four wheels on a steel band. The sensors do not require batteries and are powered by the rotation of the wheels. Many people remove the sensors when changing tires and if not aware, tire shops can damage the sensors thinking they need to break the bead opposite the valve stem because that’s exactly where the sensor should be.

Some, like myself, remove them because they can break loose inside the tire which would be bad at high speeds. It is possible to find sensors online. I sold mine this spring to a gentleman in Europe. The sensors are wheel location specific (LF RF LR RR) and there were two generations 89-92 and 93-96. One sensor at each wheel and the receiver module up under the dash.

Center caps for a-molds should be the same as the 91-92 painted sawblade wheels, most Corvette sites have them or chrome ones too in case you got chromed a-molds. Would also recommend new valve stems, they’re cheap.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll run without the sensors.

Unless your doing NCRS that’s the way to go. Mine came out in pieces, although my car has very high miles. Most tire shops have no clue how big they are or where on the rim they are located, which results in further damage.

I do believe the sensors have batteries and yes the OEM A-mold caps are the same for 91-92 wheels.

The LTPWS sensors on our cars do not have batteries. They have piezoelectric generators that power them.
