Hello ZR1 Community,
My name is Austin and I work for a classic dealer in Santa Barbara CA. We have a client who is ill and has been working with us to sell his classic car collection. While going through the owners garage looking for items for other cars I came across a ZR1 box with the original window sticker, vhs, drivers manual, and coffee table book with leather cover that includes the VIN.
The VIN is 1G1YZ23J9L5802331 and would be a 1990 dark metallic red with black interior ZR1.
If the current owner would like to have these items to go with their car please contact me to talk about how to get them to you. If there is any help the community can provide to get these to the correct home it would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Austin

*the box is a little beat up but did a great job protecting the contents inside

This is whats called a "pizza box" to our community, dealer to delivery looks like central office, could be for a GM exec, keychain inside? coffee table book inside?

Thank you for the reply! I think I may have found the current owner on here after doing a little forum searching after I made this post just waiting on a reply. The keychain seems to be missing but the book, manual, vhs, window sticker and leather case is all there.
What makes you think it was for an Executive? The man who had it was a serious collector

It looks like it was not delivered to a dealer but to central office, could of been for a exec to drive, was this collector the original owner? if so did he work for GM?

The original owner was a doctor wit an amazing collection. We did not sell this car for the trust but he seemed to be a Chevy guy and tended to buy first year rare models and kept the mileage low! We have also sold a 454ss pickup with 11k miles, a iroc z convertible with 1,250 miles and a low mileage suburban. He might have ordered this car and they could explain the original window sticker that was never put on the window

Hold it for a bit, I'm checking with an owner who's car comes from California. We both have 1990 dark red metallic cars, mine is 1587. I'm waiting to hear back if he in fact has the VIN number that pertains to owners kit. I am sure he would be interested.

Pretty sure this is his car, after looking at the BAT ad... can't be too many 5000 mile dark red 1990s out there from Cali

Yes.
I just texted him, but it's after 11 p.m. here in New York, so maybe he'll see it in the morning.
'90 Dark Red Metallic ZR-1, there were only 181 made in that color.

WOW, Christmas in October. Glad to see the paperwork get back together with the car. I had a similar experience with mine when Marty posted up with my car's information.

This is a great find for me car. I have reached out to Austin and just waiting to hear back. Does anyone know what the key chain looks like that came with the pizza box?

This is a great story. I thought I would never find the original pizza box for my car. Austin you are a car guy for sure. Only cost me $38 dollars for shipping for a piece of my cars history.
Thanks again

I just want to say what a great thing Austin did, going out of his way to try to find someone related to this stuff. Not everyone in the car dealer world would do this, so thanks to him. Looks like he a BMW guy judging from his handle--BMW E30? I had an E36 M3 at one time. --Bob

Seeing as everyone's fessin' up about Bimmers....
I've got an E39 540I-6 Dinan and a F32 coupe in my "other" life.
OBTW: It's Bimmer not Beamer, Beamers are bikes.
