View Full Version : Needed: Center Console Striker
TX '90 ZR1

As I continue to do the nit-picky details things just show up. The latch on my '90's center console has not been working. I figured it was the plastic release button or spring. WRONG!! Come to find out there is what is called a "center console glove box door latch". I can't find a supplier for this part. Davie's has one listed but they are no longer available.
I can make one, but it will be trial and error to get the right size.
Anybody have an extra laying around? I'd like to talk you out of it.
Attaching a pic to show you what it looks like.

It's actually a 'striker' and has applications from '90 through 'end of production' I would certainly think a person shouldn't need to shop 'long distance' for something that until you actually have 'in hand' can confirm is functional.
Anyone parting a '90+ car could help you.
GM # 10086183 but of course NLA.
I'd think there's many very near you.

I wanted to call it a "striker" also, but that was not the description I found. I am going to call it a "striker" anyway.
I'm out in the middle of "nowhere"!! I know my profile shows Lorena which is close to Waco, but I actually stay out in the country about 150 miles northwest of there so everything is "long distance"!!
If I don't run across one I can just make it.
Thanks for your feedback.

Just make one the same thickness and spray it black.

Thanks for all the input Guys.
Mirrock is sending me one for just about the postage fee.
I could have made one, but for the price I can't justify the time.
Everyone have a great one!!
