I have checked the radio in my car and it appears to be working properly. It looks like I have a speaker / amp problem. Question - How many are in my 1990 ZR1? I know there are two located in the back of the car and I have been there are also located in the doors? I have some spares that came with the car. I was told they are in working order. How hard is it to change them out.

Two in The footwell and two in the rear compartment. All on the outboard side. Originals don’t have speakers on the doors.

John,
Are you getting sound out of some of the speakers? If not, it could be the DCM which is in the passenger side dash.
Each of the 4 speakers has it's own amp.
There is a lot of info on this in the "Sticky" solutions postings by Dynomite. These are at the top of the thread.
The FSM will also help in showing you where the items are, but not so much in actual removal of the DCM.
Dr. Don is the "go to" guy on the radio system. He's very helpful.
Here's a couple of pics of the speakers. First is rear, second is front.
Good Luck!!

My best guess is the DCM to start with. Maybe amps too.
Call Dr. Don & describe the symptoms to him. He will help you figure out where to start.
