Radio won't turn off

I just returned from the weekend at Carlisle. Great weather this year and had a blast! I've been experiencing a strange issue with the radio yesterday and today. When I unlocked my car door yesterday at the hotel the radio turned on and started playing before I put the keys in the ignition. I drove the car to the fairgrounds got out locked the doors and the radio kept playing. I manually turned off the radio for a few times and eventually the antenna went down. The lights on the radio remain lit up showing the clock. There are no other lights on in the car. I disconnected the battery at the fairgrounds so I wouldn't have any issues.

Drove the car home this morning and made two stops. At the first stop I got out and the radio shut off with no issues when I exited. However when I came back and the doors unlocked the radio came back on. The second pit stop I made the radio did not turn off when exiting. When manually turning off the radio kept playing for about ten seconds but then shut down.

I've tried both scenarios with manually locking the car vs using the automatic lock on the keychain with the same results. I bought a new battery a year ago, keep on a charger and have strong voltage.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? I asked all the experts at Carlisle and the best guess was a failing radio module. I have a 94.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

So your 94 has DAB.. Delayed Accessory Bus, did the windows work as well? Could be a relay (this circuit is controlled by CCM)

Thank you very much for your response. Just had a very interesting result. The windows do not work. When I hit the button for the windows, the radio turns off and the antenna goes down. I then manually turned off the radio so only the clock is illuminated. Once I hit the window switch then the clock shut off as well.

Do you have the FSM (factory service manual) I would suggest looking at the DAB circuits and troubleshoot from there.

Did you try the switch with the door open? Try it with the door closed. Sounds like the DAB might be sort of working..

Wow the windows did work with the doors closed. Doors open they don't work and shut off the radio.

Unfortunately I don't have the FSM. There is a corvette shop down the street from me that I trust. I will see if they can take a look at it.

Spoke to Doctor Don's. He said issue is most likely the CD / cassette control PC board. Also said to check for water in compartment with CDM. Just went out to the garage and today everything is operating totally normal. Go figure. I assume the issue will flare up again at some point. Thanks for everyone's time and responses. Much appreciated.
