That's a nice 90....Question about BAT,when I do look at the site which really is not often, I notice tons of photos....
Does BAT take the photos ? If so, I'm guessing you have to bring it to a nearest location, correct?
Very nice 65 Vette for sale as well...Modified with a high HP 350 and a 5 speed.....I notice that more and more today, taking the classic C-2 and giving it a more modern feel......NOM is nice but you can really enjoy the car more with modern upgrades...

When selling my 78 there I too took tons of photos and answered questions. I was asked for more photos by the BaT staff after my submission too. They put it all together and make the ad. The good thing is that it was 2 weeks from first e mail to final sale.

I'd be curious to know the reserve on this one...
Red on red is ugly, not phenomenally low miles for a ZR-1, probably a 28-30k car on a very good day. It's nice that it comes with all the little bells and whistles so a buyer doesn't have to track those down.
BAT isn't the ideal place for a ZR-1.
If people want top dollar for these cars, they have to understand that an auction isn't the place for that. They don't have the notoriety to be big sellers at auction. To most they are just another C4.

BaT never reveals the reserve.
Usually you can quess what it is?
Agree, BaT is not the place to sell a ZR-1...
Good place to sell your BMW E30 M3 though...

I agree. An auction is not the best place for one of our Z's. Especially an online one. There are a lot of common issues that need to be checked that can really only be done by an "eyes on" inspection unless you really trust the seller.Fixing these issues can get into a few grand pretty quick.
Spork2367. You must have missed the memo! I thought everybody knew the red ones are the fasted, and the red guts are good for at least 2 or 3 MPH!!!

Always knew the red one's are fastest,
but didn't know about the boost due to
the red interior! Damn, my car is faster
than I thought!!!

Yes, it's something about the lack of contrast between the two areas. Less drag as there is continuity throughout!!
Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!!!!

Ahh... continuity?
Never thought of that!
Yes!!! Makes perfect sense!

It is just that our minds are slowing down not cars going faster.

You have 2015-2016 Z0-6s going for 56K-70 K originally priced at 100 K....If this Z breaks 20K it is well bought but in my opinion not really given away...

Now I am really confused.
I always thought " well-bought" by the buyer, kind of means "given- away" by the seller.
Just kidding.
An early poster said it best.
No place to sell a ZR-1.
You are right on the drop in the C-7 Z06's.
It's a shame.
C-6 Z06's with under 20k miles sell in the high 30's, and they were 80k cars.
New Corvettes are still new cars, and depreciate accordingly, just like any other, not unique to the Vette.
The uniqueness of the Vette and some others is they eventually bottom-out then start moving upward.
Looked at another way though, very many great opportunities out there for buyers as long as they are OK with buying a 2-10 year or older car.
Find the one that the former owner obsessed over with low miles and you have hit a real homerun that sails far out of the park!
Many even have strong "new car smell"!

You seem to say this about every car that is sold. If they are all going for those prices, I don't think it's that they are all being given away, I think that just may be the going price of them, at auction anyway.

I don't know anything about this car but what is addressed in the posting.
I would hope that the buyer has done his research and knows what common issues have or have not been addressed. Seems like I either saw or heard it had original tires.
If it needs most of the common issues corrected, low 20K is probably the money. (Tires, radio, injectors, you know the list.)
If the car is "fully vetted" with everything working, I'd think mid to upper 20's is the price point.
Mine just like this with 35K on it is really close to being in the "fully vetted" EVERYTHING works category. I think it would be worth the mid-20 mark.
This is just my opinion, so please take it for what it's worth.

Agreed. I think the pricing for auctions tends to be in that lower range because often the buyers can't fully vet the cars first.

Yep, I always say that and always will... 😀
ZR-1s ARE the most UNIQUE Corvette ever built!
All you guys gotta agree on that or you wouldn’t be here?
Sure, there’s some nice ones, I like ‘em all!
But... all the rest only have one cam...
Unfortunately, as we all know the market’s the market.

I think that (26.5K) is pretty much on the mark if as advertised. Good to see one at auction be a fair representation.
As I stated previously, I don't know the particulars on this car, but the buyer has some room to address a few common issues and still be in at a fair price level.
Obviously the buyer did not see the recent doom & gloom, burn the barn down postings. Or more likely, the buyer was knowledgeable enough to know differently.
I digress.

Bring a trailer is going to be the fastest best price you will get for most any car. I sold a car in two weeks from first contact to money in my account there. To get the same amount via other means would’ve taken several months or more. I follow a lot of different models there and cars there tend to go for more than average, but in many cases they are better cared for, documented and presented well.

That is definitely higher than 90's have been going for.

If you have a porsche or bmw, definitely. But I see the obscure car prices rising on there as it's popularity increases. That calloway went for more than I though it would as well.
While I don't know that the cars are actually vetted any better, they are presented as such with good clear photos of all critical areas.

There were only 500 Callaway Twin Turbo cars made from 87 through 91.
How many ZR-1’s were made in total?
