Not quite what we were expecting (20 to 22 HP), Marc says his chip picks up 10 HP and 10 TQ. If that's the case, the Flowmasters picked up only 5 HP. Expensive ones too.
Do you have the dyno sheets available for posting? It would be interesting to see the difference between the two. Are the two runs corrected equally so they are comparable?
Thanks for posting. What are your thoughts?

Remember, peak numbers alone don't mean much. Marc says "around" ten so maybe the chip only added 7 at peak but, it may have added 15 or more elsewhere. What I would also like to see are the torque numbers from before as I assume that they were close to the HP numbers. If so, then that's a nice gain. Another good comparison would be how much the power falls off up top now as to before. I would rather gain 20 hp every where and only 10 at peak instead of 20 at peak and only 10 everywhere else. JMHO.

I have them not sure of how to post them.I f you drop me a PM with a fax # I will fax them to ya on Monday.
The first one from 11/2 was done @ SGC on a Dynojet and does not list torque it also is listed as HP & MPH..
The two pulls today were done @ Vengeanec Raicing on a Dynojet also, it lists HP & RPMs.
and yes I was looking for a 20hp gain also.
Not sure of how good the dyno was as both runs are missing some of the graph lines?? Guess I can't complain as it was free... I sure someone who know how to read them could tell more than I can...

You really need a torque curve to see whats happening. Air/Fuel ratio is needed also, that way you can tell if you're (the engine) is fat or lean. You have got a great tq curve Steve. It comes up quick and stays there for a long time. Your car should scoot.
I would say that given the variations between Dynos there has definitely been an improvement.

Mike,
Thanks for posting the graphs for me..was great talking with ya.
John,
it pulls good and I'm happy with the gains..When I have the time again I'll have to get down to SGC and have a good dyno run with A/F.. I did not see this before but the run at SGC is STD and the new one is SAE..

You might give the guys at the dyno shop a call and ask for the sheets that show the air fuel. do you remember if they put something in your exhaust pipe @the rear of the car? if they did then they should have the air fuel if they keep any kind of records . what you would like to see is 12.7 12.8. youcould then send the sheets to mark and he could adjust your fuel if need be. he did that for me once i believe he chged me 50 to do that. well worth it .

Notice the SGC dyno was corrected to STD, the recent run was corrected to SAE. The Dynojet STD correction is normally around 2.5% higher than SAE J1349 standards.
I would suggest your baseline was more like 316 rwhp (SAE), thus the gains more like 23 rwhp. The Flows are probably responsible for about 1/2 of that.

thought I would share what i modified on the flowmaster system that did 2 things 15 more rwhp and made it sneeky quiet at the same time. I was looking through jegs' and came upon this ultra flow muffler that had duel in and outs . i got a 3in one and replaced the resonator with it . went 3in off the headers to the x pipe muffler then just used the exisisting flowmaster system from there. it is as quiet as the stk system when cruizing and just loud enough when you get on it . Its about 40% quieter than the original flowmaster . Now i can plant my foot without worring about everyone hearing (cops) and she is faster too. one guy says its sneeky fast. that this car tooo quiet to be that quick. that of course after I dusted his 04 z06:mrgreen:

That's a very interesting combination...I like to hear my Z roar, but I also like it not to drown everything out when it's loafing....and of course I want maximum power (that is the point, eh?) Might have to look at this combo, thanks for the info.

425hp at the rollers, that's smokin'...with that kind of power, I wonder what kind of gains you'd get doing the heads at this point....seems like they might be minimal for the cost factor involved, but you won't know 'til tou do it. I'd be pretty happy with 425rwp even if I had the full porting package, anything over that is icing.

That would be exactly what Marc and Hib's gains combined would be. Marc says 10 on his website (chip) and Hib had 12 on the Dyno (Corvette Action Center article).

here is what we did coreys' dyno 409.9 .i got this new exhaust mocked up @ 8am dyno stk flowmaster but a friends dyno in bakersfield ca 408.2 put the car on the rack changed things over @11 am modded flowmaster ex which now consists of 3in exto the ultra flow 3in x pipe muffler then the stk 21/2 in flowmaster from there. the changes 3in off header instead of 21/2 and the ultra flowx pipe muffler instead of the flowmaster resonator . final dyno run 425.4. so she improved about 15 hp. it would be fun to try to port the heads but in reality I cant afford the 6k to have that done. what i want to do now is get another set of 90 rears so I canput some drag radials on and go to the strip. If anyone knows some one willing to part with some 90 rear wheels have them pm me. thanx:cheers:
