I asked. Said he cant load them til later in the week, but it can be found on carsoup.

I'm going up to rippies sometime soon to get my manifolds. I will ask them what he knows about it.

I'd be interested to know if this car has one of the eight "Black Widow" engines in it or if it's a clone.

From what I can gather, it is definitely NOT a Black Widow motor (and not presented as one of the 8 Black Widow cars or a clone)… it has a DRM600 motor (385cid) installed. I have not been able to find any info on a "DRM Widow Maker" package, though.

Just my opinion: the claim of being #001 of anything may be open to debate, but it sounds like a stout, refreshed motor in a well-maintained car. I'm interested enough to learn more about it, and might just pull the trigger on this one. I'm just a sucker for the C4 ZR-1s and Callaways.

Might just be distortion in the photo but for a 92 it should have the large cutout in the windshield and this looks like a latter year windshield? No big deal, at least no delamination!

Regardless the paperwork from DRM if they have it will be key. My son's 96 GrandSport is one of two made with the DRM motor package and is fullly documented. Without that documentation all the way back in 92 it's anybodies guess however I'm sure DRM could sort it out pretty fast.

Does your son's car have a "Widow Maker" engine package? I guess that would be a LT4 package, though, and completely different. I seriously cannot find any info on that being an actual package offered by DRM, or details of what that might have included.

No it's the DRM 480 package 1 of 2. basically a 383. Well documented in the GS community. However not a widow maker package and you are correct a LT4

It's possible that car COULD Be the real deal but without the documentation..... I think it might be a clone however the work was done by DRM but not one of the original 8 Black Widow cars.

Thanks for the additional info, and I totally agree with you on the above. Probably need to talk to DRM in order to get to the ground truth.

The nice thing DRM is only 30 minutes from where the car is at. I'm sure you could arrange something and have the shop look at it and answer any and all questions.

Like I said, I have to go back there soon anyway. I'll try to get the skinny on it
