Had a couple of guys from the Faroe Islands, who lives in the cottage next to us, come over last night asking if I could show them the car. Of course I did, and they took pics and sat in the car, asked about all and everything, and I told them all I know about it's history and legacy.

One said he'd seen an Audi R8 on the parking lot, and some Ferrari on the street, but none of those gave him the vibes like our Z did.

Needless to say, the powdercoated LT5 was the jewel in the crown for them too. A very nice car chat between enthusiasts is something to appreciate.

I also told them I feel "obliged" to gear down and stamp on it whenever I pass kids on the sidewalk who points and gives us thumbs-up...and they loved my attitude...lol [emoji16]

And, yes, it's very important to always connect with the younger kids! I have found in the US that it's now more the exception that the younger generation has interest in mechanical things. They are incredibly good with computers, iPhones/iPads, etc., and might play sports, but fewer have interest in working on things.

On the other hand, cars are a fantastic way of crossing the "generational boundary" (as are sports, I've found.) Lots of fun when you can chat with a lad about these kinds of things.

Great your son's team is doing well. Looks like nice weather.

All the best in your travels. May you and your lady have delightful burnouts and minimal traffic tickets. :-D

Arrived in Sweden last night. Today we are at the beach again, this time outside Halmstad on the west coast. Staying with our relatives and having a good time. Gave the Z a hose down last night since it looked like it had been thru the Sahara desert due to the dry conditions this summer over here. The engine got treated with pressured air to blow off what I could of sand and dust. Still, I prefer to drive it a lot and having to clean it often, rather than keeping it shiny locked inside like a showpiece!

Have an appointment at a local garage that specializes on american cars, and is an licensed Corvette service shop, to get it checked out. Can be plugs or wires, vacuum, cats...many suggestions. Bet I will be screaming in the left lane soon [emoji106]

Just a thought.
Check your drain and boot around the gas filler area.
I recall seeing you washed the car with a pressure washer a day or so before you had the performance anomaly. Perhaps the drain might be clogged, filling the boot and some water entered the tank.
Alternatively, perhaps you picked up some contaminated fuel.
Strange that the problem appeared then vanished.
This leads me to suspect a fuel issue as opposed to a mechanical one.
Mechanical issues typically don't come and go.
Glad you are making it back home!

the thought of condense/water in the fuel has actually crossed my mind too. But, it runs fine now and I will check connectors etc when we get home. 1600 miles and counting so far [emoji106]

Arrived at a fellow ZR-1 owner's place tonight, and he washed our Z straight away. Then he dried it with a towel and let us park in his garage before we went in for dinner and some beers.

Tomorrow we will compare the cars and take pics. His is an all stock black on black 91.

There was a very popular television series here in the US called “The Vikings” which I enjoyed. Your town looks like a modern version of the fictional town in the show. Located at the end of the Fjord, mountains all around and a valley at the end. Very picturesque.
