I sendt an email to Bilstein HQ in Germany regarding rebuilding my original FX-3 shocks, and this is the response I got:
Dear Roy,

Attached to this e-mail you´ll receive an extract of our catalogue with suitable BILSTEIN B6 shocks for your car.
Please note the mentioned advices and compare them with your car data.

Is this correct - does the B6 really work with the actuators etc just like the FX-3?

Dear Roy,
with our shocks your serial adjustment options will be conserved.
You can also mount the actuator on top of the BILSTEIN B6 shocks, similar to your serial shocks.

That's interesting, and maybe good news, however, I do not see anything on the B6 web page that mentions adjustability.
I wonder if the person who responded is aware of the original FX-3 functionality. It might have been someone who wasn't born yet when the ZR-1 came out. :-)

When I searched on Summit it came up as suitable for the ZR-1 with the 3 different settings.

Excellent.
Next (I think), we need to know if they are useable in both the early and later ZR-1's, because I think the actuators are different (they turn further or less during adjustments).
I'm not an expert. I just recently read Hib's article describing the system. :-)

Hey! I was planning to buy shocks from the US and ship them to sweden but it seem that no shipping company want to fly them at all since they are gas filled... Do you have any idea how to get them to norway?

I recently contacted the Billstein company directly. They said that they have a production run scheduled for July/August of this year.
They also said that they will not rebuild their shocks that were sold by GM and/or have an ACDelco sticker on them.
When they are back in stock, Summit Racing seems to have good pricing, fast ship and great Customer Service.

You could try shipping by sea via JetCarrier.com. I believe they ship to both Sweden and Norway.
The shocks are also for sale on German eBay, where ground freight might be an option.

What is the difference between the FX3 shocks and suspension on a standard C4 Corvette vs the ZR-1?
I don't quite understand why there are possibly two different fx3 shocks out there for the same model car. Less the engine.

there was an early bilstein shock for the zr1 / c4 that later received revised valving
the actuators work on all shocks, the later ones rotate less so they are "faster" to change modes 3 modes in both models
I found out you can swap controllers and shocks in all the zr1 and they work fine
stay tuned, I saw some nice coil over setups.
I have some low mile shocks on my 95 and my coil over setup is for sale.
