Hey guy recently picked up my 1991 white on red zr-1. I was just wondering if i would be able to track down previous owner or if any of you may know about it or them possibly. It has a zr-1 registry sticker in the bottom left corner of windshield dated for 2009. I know the car in 1998 made its way to alabama and stayed there for 10 yrs. then a guy in illinois bought it. Can i contact a chevy dealer and have them possibly get me the service records? This is my dream car that I have wanted since i was 9. Finally made that come true a couple days ago. Anyways just wanted to a introduce myself and b see if anyone may know. the vin number is 1g1yz23j3m5801127

I would suggest to put a few pictures in your thread.
Since it has the ZR-1.net decal, I would think there is a good chance someone here could remember it.
Another idea is to run a Carfax and see if it shows any service records done at Chevy dealers. I have found that if you have a date service was done and talk to the service adviser real nice, they will share quite a bit of info.
Good luck, congratulations, and welcome. You are among a very helpful group here.

Welcome to the addiction! You’ve come to the most helpful and congenial group of car nuts on the net. Technically there is nothing than cannot be asked and answered here.
Your car, 1991 #1127 is not listed in the registry archive. That said the Chicago group is very active. (The FBI) There is a good chance your car is known to them. I’m sure someone will surface with some information for you.
Enjoy your new car.

I will try to get some up. I was thinking same thing. I honestly just want to know all that has been done to the car. It has long tubes, and a borla exhaust, gears and a tune. Just didnt know if its been ported or not. Thank you I am glad to finally be able to join the brother hood.

That is strange. I would think you would need to be a registered member to get the sticker. I will post something up in the regional section and see. Thank you. I love this car.

Congrats on your 91! I cannot really contribute to the knowledge about the previous owner of your 91, but I do notice that I live very close to you!
Great to have another Indianapolis registry member on board. I have a 90, we should get them together before the end of the summer Have you considered joining one of the local Corvette clubs?
Being so close if you have any troubles or need any help with anything let me know.
Would love to get to know you!

We belong to Corvette Indy. (It's like $50 a year, or $75 I think for you plus spouse). If you go to their Vets and Vettes car show they will give you the first year for free (August 18th).
They do a ton of trips, outings and shows on top of other things, been a very good group. One of the largest Corvette clubs in the US is my understanding. http://www.corvetteindy.com/ go there and look at the photo gallery. We haven't done much with them this year as we've been really busy on the weekends, but they are a great group.
We live in Irvington on the East Side of Indy. Not terribly far from Fishers. Would be more than willing to drive up to see you on a nice day, could grab lunch or something.
Welcome to the brotherhood!

Thank you I will check them out. That sounds good to me. I am gonna replace the fuel system and some odds and ends here fairly soon. I don't want to take a chance of getting stranded somewhere. I took it out today and it ran pretty good but I got a code 55 the other day I was getting on it.

Fishers, huh? That’s where I’m at. Give me a shout or pm. I’ve got a 93 (sans engine at the moment) and several engines being built. Let me know where you’re at and we can get together. I’m just a bit south of the bridge on olio.

That is pretty cool! I checked out your site. Surprised to see someone dealing with the lt-5 so close. I am at 141 and cumberland road. I might pick your brain a bit about a hesitation problem I have experienced. Sounds good I am looking forward to meeting more zr-1 people. Are you in a building or is that your residence?

Last summer I changed out my injectors, O2 sensors exhaust system and the fuel pumps before I finally sorted out some troubles.
I had a hesitation like you mention further down the thread, guessing midway through the power band? I’d start with the fuel pumps, which you can do in about 30 minutes. One of my pumps was struggling with some old decrepit rubber hoses. Car is fantastic now.
Will PM you tomorrow sometime, we will sort out a lunch or something.

WELCOME to the BROTHERHOOD OF THE BEAST!!
Northeast of Indy - a suburb (name escapes me now) is Brett Henderson - a car restorer and member of the Net Registry Board of Directors. He has a purple 95 that he says he's going to send to Pete (in Chicogoland) for an upgrade. Helluva nice guy and knows the Zs litterally from top to bottom!
You're close to FBI land (Pete being one of the cornerstones of that organization, among others) and your welcome to join the 'club'. (No dues, no officers, we just gather to break bread, organize some cruises. (In fact, you're invited to join us on our first ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUN that starts Wed next week [7/18] beginning initially in Canon City near the Royal Gorge Bridge Park, and then moves to the main base camp of activity in Black Hawk (about an hour northwest of Denver in the mountains).
PM me with your email addy, and I'll put you on the FBI's mailing list so you'll be aware of gatherings and cruise activities. And, if you make your way up hear, give us a shout with a little warning, and we'll use it as an excuse for a pizza night or some such thing!
Again, welcome to the madness!
Paul.

That’s pretty cool! Thank you I would love to go but unfortunently I need to get some stuff sorted out with the car before I take it on a long road trip. Def will try to make it up there at some point. I have tried to research the FBI cause I have heard that you are some of the fastest around.
