BC coil overs and Evolution Motorsport have come together to design as set of coil overs(the same type that are normally used on the C5, C6 and C7 Corvettes). These coil overs are over 35 way adjustable and 12 way dampened for the smoothest yet firm ride!!!

The initial goal for us, was to create a set of coil overs to that: #1--Are Top Quality yet affordable, and #2-- were easy to install and didn't require major modifications to the car.

The ones you see here are the Prototypes that are going in The "Revenant" for testing. (As you can see these can also be PowderCoated any color)

Our goal is to have them Ready for Corvettes at Carlsile!![emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]773677377738

Yes sir. These are fully adjustable both height, firmness and rebound. These are targeted at those who need a fully adjustable height and race handling.

So what exactly does “affordable” mean?

adjustable from the cockpit or have to get out and adjust each corner manually?

Looks like they have an extension to be able to adjust but you will still need to go to each corner.

No go if you lose FX3

Thanks, but no thanks.
I will stick with the DRM coil-overs which retain the FX3.
Whenever I hit a road where the suspension seems to have difficulty coping, I simply turn the switch a time or two, and problem solved.
Why give that up?
Now that this one has been set, I no longer need to fiddle with ride height.
The new gear looks nice, but solves a problem that I do not have, and creates one that I do not currently have.
Serious track folk likely will feel differently, as well as those who want to drop their height, and raise it, and drop it.................
I am sure some will love it, so your efforts are appreciated!

Do these utilize the magnetorheological shock absorber technology developed by GM? If not, does anyone know if the early or current crop of Corvette MSRC shocks can be adapted to the C4s? If so has anyone done so? The suspension on my Z06 is nothing short of amazing in terms of compliance over bumps and the breadth of performance options. --Bob

No, they aren't MSRC, and nobody has adapted MSRC for an aftermarket kit for any car. OEM only as there are a lot of electronics and computers involved.

Here are the initial install...these coil overs needed NO modification to the car.[emoji41][emoji41][emoji4]

As for uses, this is again focused on those who want to have a track suspension and control while lowering thier car. We arent trying to recreate the wheel or replace it...just make it easier and cheaper if you want it.7749775077517752

No reinforcement of the front upper shock mounts?
They weren't designed to take the loads they'll see with
the coilover mod?
Pretty sure Callaway reinforced them on their conversions?
Big John?

Yep [emoji1531]
I have FX3 alsoAGAIN,....not for those who wish to keep FX3...a system that many people have that arent working. So in light of the difficulty in getting parts for the FX3 system(a few have came into the shop that the owner didnt even know they werent connected, werent working ect)

Also this setup would be good for those with Base C4 corvettes-that may not have the FX3 system.[emoji41] [emoji6] .

No need to disparage an idea or a design because you dont need it.

Agreed, I have no need for this, but that don't make it a bad idea. I'm pretty sure Dempsey opened with "affordable".

Thanks Dempsey, nice job. - Steve

Interesting project. I'm staying tuned to the post :-)
I'm 50/50 on the FX-3 system as it has been difficult to say the least when trying to get my shocks repaired / upgraded. To date, they have been sent out and returned w/o a rebuild due to lack of knowledge on how to modify the settings correctly and unavailability of parts.

I appreciate the effort on this; I'll be interested when you get to the point of selling.

First and foremost, a great job Dempsey!
FX3 system was the state of the art in the late 80s. Ferraries of the era had near identical set up including identical FX3 controller except in Ferrari red.
I still have a brand new set of FX3 Bilsteins ready to be bolted on when my current set (replacing originals) expires.
However, even shock absorber technology marched on. Ideally, someone would offer a retro fit magnetorheological shocks for C4s - fat chance...
However, compression/rebound adjustable (albeit not on the fly) may be still a quantum leap compared to 80s tech FX3.
I, for one, will arrange to take a ride in Dempsey's coil overs and consider this option. Heck, my stashed away Bilsteins will pay for half of new coil overs...
Just my thoughts.

UPDATE!!!...Install/fitment and test report is DONE and submitted.!!![emoji6][emoji41] now we are working with the manufacture to correct a few small things. After 250 miles, Our initial assesment is the coil overs have excellent ride quality even over bumpy terrain. This is also with the coils in the front close to the lowering limit. As indicated before the front perch(mount) was considered a possible fatigue point , however after 250 miles no flex or stress has been identified.

Fantastic news! When can we make a deposit on a set?[emoji16][emoji16][/QUOTE]

I just want to confirm time to build with the modifications we need(very minor stuff) and I will then take orders.

The initial sets will be priced at $1,529.00[emoji4] these currently will be black at this price. We can powercoat them any color for $280.00

This set will NOT need any mods to the vehicle. They bolted right in. The only issues I had was:

* Front mount stud was too long. Will need to be milled down or threaded fully.

* Rear mount top hat was .50mm too wide_( easy fix)

* coil overs did not come with front rubbers/top washer(we used replacement Bilstein hardware).

I do believe with the ability to remove the stock mono springs these can be installed in an afternoon on jack stands.[emoji41][emoji6]
