Has anyone figured out how to use the new battery powered tire pressure transmitters with an old receiver? IE what model, brand and/or frequency would work in the 88-91 (I believe this is where the split is) and 92-96? That seems like it would be a lot more reliable but not sure if even possible?
Thoughts or ideas?

Why? New systems that use just a cap can tell you exact pressures. I think it would take too much effort to figure out how to get them to work

Well if I could use some of the newer battery powered units inside the wheel that work, you would not notice externally. Still plan to go through NCRS the rest of the way so want to ensure I pass the Performance Verification. Nuts I know.

Not sure if NCRS actually checks the operation other than
the lite not being on? To check operation, they'd have to let
air out of a tire. And with no way to refill it...
A PV check may be different from a Top Flight?
JRD, what do you think?
Tom Barr?

PV's are very different and significantly harder than the Top Flight in my opinion. My 94 Coper Convertible passed Tom Barr''s PV in 2012. My most prized award in NCRS.
