This is a Red Devil Wireless OBD1 dongle that I used to datalog my car with ALDLDroid. It worked great once I had the right files on my phones/tablet. It has the spare PIN wired so you can power it off your OBD1 port using the included red wire.

What Android software files are needed?

Works great, exactly what I use. Will work on most android devices. It uses the ALDLDroid.com andriod app. Just like any ALDL data program the correct communication files are needed. Those are located on the ALDLDroid.com website. I use it on the Amazon fire7, although a generic android device will load it more easily. You can power it directly from your cigarette lighter socket.

Since I have the power wire you can put a lead in your OBD1 port actually. Then it's all self contained. I did this in my ZR1.

If it was made for iPhone I would have snapped it up...

You just need an app for the iPhone. This is just using Bluetooth not voodoo magic. Haha

Sorry, but it’s Android only. Will not work on iPhone. I looked into that quite a but.

Correct.. only Android.. But you can get a tablet fairly cheap.. Maybe I need to Sell my 2012 version Nexus 7 here, that one works well
