What a fun job! I'd like to thank the Forum for the advice gained to get the job done!
I removed the inner fender wells, gained access (kinda of) to the manifold bolts and got those stock pieces out.
One thing that I read over and over was to remove the heat shields. I only had to remove the two block shields. The manifold shields were not in the way and the headers dropped right out.
The passenger o2 connector was inaccessible... Why did they bury that connector between the block and motor mount??? [emoji23]
I've also taken liberty to remove the AIR system. That cleaned up the engine compartment a lot!
Thanks again Forum, and David for the beautiful coated Watson headers. New transmission is next today!!!

I had to remove the headers and burn a set of new gaskets. The driver side was hitting the steering column, come to find out, the pan is basically siting in the crossmember. So the headers are out and new mounts and gaskets are in the way.
Sucks but I've known the mounts were out for awhile, just didn't know how badly...

I just replaced the drivers side mount. I would suggest that anyone check their motor mounts anytime u pull the motor. What made me suspicious was a problem I was having w the left side muffler. It kept moving and shifting until the stud that holds the muffler actually broke off. If u have a modified motor it puts extra twist into the drivetrain apparently causing the mount to fail. Let’s face it also, these things are 28years old too.

Not add bad as I've seen, but there has been a lot of movement in the shifter and I can move the engine a lot with a screwdriver or header.
There are two bolts on the bottom of the oil pan, in the forward section. These bolts are touching the crossmember, I can't pass a piece of paper between the pan and crossmember.
I have Prothane mounts coming, along with a new set of header gaskets.

What failed on mine was not the elastic. It was the U shaped “cap” that restructs the amount of movement up and down of the mount. It looks like a pot metal and it was cracked all the way thru allowing the motor to twist futher up and to the right. The left hand muffler was providing the resistance and the stud ultimately ripped away from the body of the muffler.

I'd have thought that once the OP acknowledged the 'Wilson/Watson' error a 'Moderator' might have corrected/edited the thread title. The OP can't but the 'Moderator' could've and I'd have thought should've.
OP - you bought the Prothane 7-526 mount package? OR?

That, the pan bolts touching the crossmember, and the no1 primary interfering with the steering lead to the mount replacement.
I did buy the prothane mounts. Hope to get them in soon. I need to drive to the heliport in Galliano Louisiana this week or next week. I want to do ur listening to my Watson's and Borla's, whilst towing through second gear for the first time in 2 years.
Guys in NAVY bootcamp they had a saying: if you're wrong, stay wrong... I'm not worried about the **** up.. Lol
