Sad story, locked out of Vette in Fl.

A friend of mine died suddenly and way too early a month ago. His widow contacted me to help her sell their 2007 Corvette convertible. We can't unlock the car. We put a new battery in the key fob. Nothing. I am afraid the vette battery went dead. How do I get into the car? We have a conventional key but do not know where to use it.

I'm pretty sure there's a spot by the rear plate that you can use to unlock the door. look up from the middle of the plate between the lights for the plate

get down on knee
look above plate to the right
You will see where to insert the key
insert and turn
hatch opens
door emergency pulls are on left side over rear wheel

the fob has a key in it
press the long thin button on the fob and the emrgency key will come out if needed.
